Editing HD Video. What are the correct Web settings?

I just encoded one using my Mac. The resolution looks outstanding, however, the frames seem to flicker more than they should.

And this is optimizing HD for the web. Now, I am viewing the finished file on my harddrive, so a Web server is not relevant.

My current bit rate: 85 / kbits / sec
Frame Rate: 24 frames / second
Size: 500 x 280
Coding method: one bit rate (CBR)

Anyone?

Thanks!

Still pretty low. The flickering could be from the 24frames per second. I'd keep that fps at 29.97.

I don't know what you are going for so I can't really recommend a bit rate. Galleries or are you trying to share some high quality vids?

I will bump it up.

Just trying to learn it really. Want to get through the errors now. I want it to stop the jumpy look.

Thanks!

Encoding Windows on my Mac is pretty slow, so I wanted to get a good idea of where to adjust...

Here is a few sony vegas settings in HD for mpeg/wmv

Audio: 224 Kbps, 48,000 Hz, Layer 2
Video: 23.976 fps, 1280x720
Use this setting to create an HD 720-24p MPEG-2 file.

Video: 25.00 fps, 1280x720, WMV V9 CBR Compression, Smoothness 90.

Assuming that the source video was interlaced, was the video deinterlaced as part of the optimization for the web process?

use anything from 500 to 1500 kpbs for the video rate, anything lower is gonna get crappy movies and 5k or so is totally useless unless you want 6 clustered xeon servers to host your vids

yeah, you'll need settings like this. full HD is 1920x1080 (1080p). 1280x720 will be 720p. Well, if they are progressive...
