What did you pay for Lasik?

Ugh, I've had this ongoing problem with an infection around my eyes. They're constantly red, burning, and itchy. Anyway, whenever, if ever, I finally get this cleared up I'd like to get Lasik but haven't really looked into it too much. What kind of price ranges have you guys paid? My eyes are pretty bad, does that play any role in the price?

Price doens't matter Sly, figure $1000 per eye as an average.

The key for maxing your chances at 100% (no issues) are the following: 1. Make sure the Doc has done them for years, literally thousands. 2. Find out the exact machine the office uses, the brand and model, along with its age, and compare it to the state of the art offerings from VISX and Bausch and Laumb. You're looking for the rigs they're using to be as new as possible, latester generation, because they track your eye on the fly and adjust better to errors while zappin' ya. Those two are the key.
