    If you smoked in Amsterdam...

...then came home and failed a UA for Children's services...could you get in trouble? It was legal where you did it.....and it would stay in your system for up to 30 days.

Just curious. I don't smoke anymore because I'm too scared I'd lose my babies if someone ratted on me. So the question occurred to me when I saw all the Amsterdam threads, lol.

Doubt the location would have any bearing on that.

Yup. Her house is safe, it's a non-marital asset under Florida law. Her retirement money could be split, but he's got annuities worth roughly the same amount that would also be split, so it's likely they'll both just keep their own crap.

Yep but I think you would have to have had a prior conviction for it to affect you. I know the big thing here in KY now is that anyone convicted of drug posession, even a little bit of pot signs aways any constitutional rights to search and seizure, and is also subject to a piss or blood test at any time. Thats if they get probation, which most offenders do on misdemanenor charges. I say fuck that. Ill serve my 10 days or what the fuck ever if im ever caught.

                    Hell yeah.
I used to smoke and someone called in a false report that I was dealing (likely my husband's ex-wife) and when my husband failed his UA (for some reason I always pass them, even when I have smoked...it's happened for job UAs before, too) they ordered him to go to drug counseling, NA, and not to be alone with the children, and to submit to random testing, which if he failed again, either he would have had to move out, or we would have lost the kids.

Needless to say I don't smoke anymore.

I have an 11yo that I would like to be able to teach not to smoke without being a hypocrite, so I don't mind all that much.

                          BUT...

It does boggle my mind that pot is illegal for parents to partake (not AROUND the kids of course, that is wrong, no doubt) while parents who get sloppy drunk in front of their kids all the time are not doing anything illegal. I've never heard a story about a parent getting so stoned that they beat their wife or child up. They'd be far too lazy to get up even if they did get that mad. *grin*

Too right, the world is a mad hypocritical place.

                            Here's what I found out:

                            ------------------------

The length of time that drugs remain in your body varies according to a lot of factors. However, on average, cannabis will be detected for up to about 36 hours.

Some of the factors which can vary these figures include:

                            The purity
                            How much you have
                            How you have it
                            How often you have them
                            What other drugs you have
                            Your mood and environment
                            Your tolerance to the drugs
                            Your sex and age
                            Your general health & well-being
                            Your general metabolic state

Being high is not illegal in the U.S. You can walk up to any police officer and say your stoned out fo your mind because you just smoked five joints.

Though if your in a battle for your childs custody, I could see a positive piss test being a contributing factor to you loosing your child.

Either way though, unless you are on a court order which you cannot use drugs of any kind and must take drug tests. You cannot be summoned to take one. It's against your 4th amendment right. Police cannot just go up to someone and force them to take a piss test without cause.

I didn't know, that's why I asked. Duh. The only time I've ever been out of the country is to Canada when I was a child, and the Bahamas on a cruise last year.

If you are under investigation by children's services they can compell you to take a test. I don't know what would happen if you refused...it wasn't worth the risk to my family to find out.
