Im afraid I disagree, I personally would wait a whole year longer for the PS3. I've never got along with the Xbox and its lack of good games. PS3 will be a far superior machine and the games will be amazing (any one seen the video trailers for Killzone 2?) Good things come to those who wait....

the developers admitted most of that trailer was pre-rendered so...

plus Sony likes to hype the living shit out of their stuff, example: Emotion Engine for PS2 anybody? :1orglaugh

Acording to Sony PS2 would be able to make games with gfx as good as PSX Final Fantasy FMV sequences... :1orglaugh

PS3 Games will BLOW Xbox games out of the freaking water. Xbox will only play Dual Layer DVD (9 gigs) while PS3 uses the Blu-ray format (54 Gigs).

It's called "First-mover advantage" and it's not always an advantage... take a fucking advertising class or two before you decide to talk about what you do not know.

Bottom line will be the games, and I am pretty sure with 54 GB to work with, compared to the measely 9 GB on the Xbox, PS3 games will kick ass.

I have absolutely no opinion, I still don't own an xbox or a ps2 I play computer games, and I still beleive my PC is faster than any console

My absolute favorite video game on a console is
"Perfect Dark"
It came out for the N64 I beleive, anyone heard of another perfect Dark?

Personally I can't wait for Pro Evolution Soccer 5, PES 4 is still the best football game ever and possibly the best game of all time..
Others include GTA and Burnout and Gran Turismo 4..

I don't play XBOX simply because I've had a Playstation since I was a kid, and a PS2 as an adult. I am used to the controls. More people buy PS2's simply because of this reason, and when PS3 comes out I would expect the same.

Yo, the football and basketball video games are fucking scary looking. I was in Circuit City one day and saw a basketball game on and while I was watching it for like 5 minutes suddenly I look down and see a kid with a game controller and realized he was playing a basketball game! Fucking scared the shit out of me it looked so real.

I can't play the real sports stuff except golf. The specs on the PS3 are astounding.

Ridiculous thread. But I'll jump in.

I haven't touched my PS2 for gaming in 3 years but if I were to buy a new console I'd wait for the PS3. Backwards compatibility was a key to buying the PS2 and a big reason I didn't bother with the X Box. The Hard Drive and the XBox live wre cool features, but the PS2 was still a better choice.

Consoles are not a kid's game anymore. Sony and Microsoft understand that it's the guys in their late 20's with jobs and disposable income that are the loyal market they need to please.
