Today I received a collection letter in regards to eBay...

The letter was addressed to my old place, which I moved out of 2 years ago, it was forwarded here. The letter states I owe eBay $150. At the time I had only bought one item off of eBay for $50. Why would I owe eBay any money? Is this a new sort of scam going around?

			Anybody heard of this before?

Well if you owed anything they might have added collection fees into your total

Ok, I could see that. For what reasons would I owe money? I've never sold anything on eBay.

Ever hold auctions then cancel them or not sell the items after they were bid on? I got into that once after I decided not to sell the stuff I offered. Had to pay the fees anyway on the high bids.

The only way you would owe eBay money is if you listed items for sale and then didn't pay your listing / final value fees.

If you bid on something and never paid for it then you wouldn't owe eBay anything, and I highly doubt that a seller would send collections after you for a bid. edit: what's the 'pay to:' name & address? |
