Actually, my roommate got an Environmental Studies degree. Got paid to live in Costa Rica near the ocean to study rain forests, got paid to travel to China to do soil studies, going to get paid to live in Hawaii. I think what is common or easy is not necessarily the most useless.
Communications and general studies are what the jocks get...but these days your BA or BS doesnt matter that much for most fields and you can really argue that Communications gives you some people skills and perspective that are very valuable. General studies at the very least makes you rounded and have a wide knowledge.
I think most BS and BA's are worthless if you actually want to use them towards a specific career path as things are competitive enough (atleast in metro areas) where you need the masters or work experience. So because of this i'd say majors that do nothing but specialize you ...dont enlighten your perspective etc are the most worthless.
I would consider an English degree to be among the most worthless. Sure it sounds accomplished...but welcome to the real world where its really a meaningless piece of crap.Comment
