Bloody outlook express aghhhh
Fucking thing asks me if it can compact my messages the other day so I thought what the fuck, why not, now all recent messages are gone and cant find the ompacted ones, anyone know how to get em back? Tried importing the messages but it wont let me import the same set of messages that I'm working on, outlook sucks (

Try browsing to
C:\Documents and Settings\(username)\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{long string of numbers and letters}\Microsoft\Outlook Express and see how big the .dbx files are (or if they are even there for your various folders). If they are of any size chances are your messages can be retrieved. Try downloading Eudora and see if it will let you import messages.

Part 2, if Eudora lets you import the messages, make sure Outlook express is closed then go to the folder I posted above. Delete the .dbx files, then relaunch OE and see if it will let you import the messages back from Eudora.
