It's been crazy busy for me this summer.

It's all about traffic though. If you know where to find summer traffic, there isn't much of a slowdown.

Maybe it can cause bad ratios too, coz just imagine the situation. The rich (cc owners) are going to holidays etc. etc. and more 'kids' are surfing for porn. So the traffic is the same in the amount but not in the quality.

Please don't take offense.. but you have no business knowledge making that statement.

I could go on but the point is clear... the summer slowdown does exist. Why does it exist in online porn? Because the weather kicks ass and people are out getting laid instead of sitting in front of their computer jacking off! School is out, people who work go on vacation.. etc. etc.

The slowdown ebs and flows, goes up and down.. then stabalizes within the next few weeks. Some program owners will always post that things are better then ever as a marketing tool, claiming they're never affected.. etc. etc. which is a bunch of horsh shit as ALL ONLINE BUSINESSES experience the summer slowdown, except for a few select industries ( online travel sites etc.) :pimp

for a lot of webmasters there is a slowdown depending on where their traffic comes from..

some people dont see or notice a slowdown, and can be a little ignorant to beleive others to experience it (ie: mailers *cough cough*)

Hm interesting point of view. My traffic is mainly tgp (galls), and some nice SE (blogs).

I can reinforce my point..

differant traffic sources see differant results in all seasons

dating traffic peaks in sales between november and february for example, take into account that people are more lonely in the winter.. online dating thrives, while clubs and bars tend to decrease in business

then summer clubs and bars see more business, while online dating goes down a bit.

it is ignorant to just say "no it dont, thats a lie.. shithead", when common sense should scream that its correct :2 cents:

not sure if their ever down, I never looked much into TGP traffic.

If I had to guess, its always winter somewhere.. like right now its colder in other countries than the states, European countries, United States and Canada are the big porn buyers.. they make up most the sales.

So if its winter in China and everyones at home online, U.S traffic would be down but the other countries traffic would make up for it, and since they buy less ratio's get worse.

Of course, I'm talking out of my ass here and I'll admit that.. theres a ton of reasons why sales decrease for TGP's during the summer.. mostly because theres a lot more to do in the states when its warm, making sitting at home looking at porn less inticing that it would be in the colder months.

Then your also using "recycled" traffic, people who know where to look for porn, and get it for free. Combine that with summer where their less likely to spend their money on porn because of better things to do outdoors.

Then theres people who's traffic source is mostly fresh meat, people who are new to the internet and have no idea where to look to find porn for free.. they get hit first by these guys first and since they dont know any better they go ahead and buy :)

The adult industry does have a summer slow down. Not every webmaster feels the effects and not every source of traffic. But it does happen.

Over the next month we will start to see a steadiness in sales. A lot due to the part of college students heading back to the dorms, new students getting credit for the first time, and so on..

It does happen, we do have a summer slow down, but it?s not like the bottom falls out and joins stop. If you have bad ratios look at your traffic sources. Otherwise wait a few more weeks and see if your sales go up, an increase from 1:500 average to 1:450 average is an improvement.

If you average 1:500 out of 10,000 clicks a day over a month that is 600 sales vs 666 sales with 1:450. An extra $2k+ and an increase in average that you may not notice as a slow down or an increase.

your blog sales could be contributed to what kind of terms people are finding it by maybe? not sure, I only know what I'm talking about half the time :1orglaugh
