haaa for the first time we have cheaper gas here than in the US.. $2.10 a gallon..

wildgirl 08-15-2005 12:46 PM

I think because water can make people live unlike gas, it will just make the vehicles run or let say that water is very important in our body because without it we're going to die

Linkster 08-15-2005 12:50 PM

The reason bottled water is expensive is because all of the "new generation" that has to have everything sterilized, pure and sanatized dont have the immunities built up like us older folk - so they get sick on the stuff that comes out of the ground and get (oh my god) germs on their fingers that they have to wash off with lysol immediately!!!
Catch a clue - who do you think owns the cleaning product companies - the same ones that produce infection fighting medicine and bottled water. Off to drink some of my pond water (damn I hope I can live afterwards - wouldnt want to get an ear infection)

Nice conspiracy, to bad bottled water does not have to be as clean as city tap water.

The best question is why is gas allowed to be $2 in one state then just across state line it is $3. Not cool.

You don't have Evian there?

"Allowed"? It's taxes.

It's quite different to compare small bottles and designer labels of water Vs. gallons, there is no equivalent in the gas market.

Look at Disani it's just filtered water, Coke's biggest cost on that product is the bottle itself! They have the distribution, why not take one place in the machine for water, can't blame them for being smart!

Gas here in Montreal hit $1.15 a liter which works out to $4.35 a gallon!

What I don't get is why bottled water has a 'use by date'. :)

Marketing 101... but I don't believe those dates.. I once ate a jar of Mayonaisse that was 17 years expired... and it was just fine.

What, besides gasoline, is made from a barrel of oil?

Gallons per Barrel:

Gasoline 19.4
Distillate Fuel Oil 9.7 (Includes both home heating oil and diesel fuel)
Kerosene-Type Jet Fuel 4.3
Coke 2.0
Residual Fuel Oil 1.9 (Heavy oils used as fuels in industry, marine
transportation, and for electric power generation)
Liquefied Refinery Gases 1.9
Still Gas 1.8
Asphalt and Road Oil 1.4
Petrochemical Feedstocks 1.1
Lubricants 0.5
Kerosene 0.2
Other 0.4

JuiceMonkey 08-15-2005 04:36 PM

water is free from the tap?
If they are selling tap water there, might want to check into it.

I also get about 18liters of water for $3.. tell me where I can buy gas for that cheap?

Well, there you have it. It's not the big SUVs using up the oil, it's the porn! :)

tristan_D 08-15-2005 05:39 PM

maybe its because of the demand for the certain product.

everybody complains about the price of fucking gas and then spends so much more $ per gallon on bottled water when it's free from the tap.

ironic.

Cause vendors of bottled water are trying to earn a profit so they can eat and afford the price of bottled water.

Seriously.. water is the next oil. It's becoming a scarce commodity.

beemk 08-15-2005 06:03 PM

mabye if you buy single bottled water from the gas station. i buy cases at costco and it ends up costing something like 15 cents for a 16oz water.

Petrochemical Feedstocks 1.1

and that goes into almost every product manufactured.
