wtf, who buys premium?

I buy the cheapest, unleaded. I'd buy half gas mixed with water if it'd make my car run.

skjold 08-13-2005 04:39 AM

In Denmark it's pushing past the DKK 10,- now. Thats ~$1,67/L or $6,30 / gallon......

That sucks!!

strobi 08-13-2005 04:48 AM

1.66$/L here (6,2$/gallon) ouch!

cool1 08-13-2005 06:00 AM

Yesterday I was paying $.97.5, today I am paying $1.00
it fucking sucks
why is the price so high.
does it have something to do with what is going on in Iraq?

pretty much the same here..... :disgust

ezrydn 08-13-2005 06:34 AM

I'm paying a whopping 6 pesos/liter. That's less than .60US/liter. Course, we pump our own oil and don't pay much attention to the towelheads. They're your bedpartners, not ours. ENJOY!

invertiga 08-13-2005 06:38 AM

in .au i pay AUD$1.08-1.18 per/l for 98 octane premium. 91 standard is somewhere between .96 and $1.08.

depends on what you drive... ever taken off a engine head and see what that 87 shit does to it? Especially people who run modified cars like I do.... turbo's and aftermarket engine internals require 93 or you'll blow something easily.

I pay the same in Chihuahua. And 50% of what we pay for gas in Mexico is federal tax, the other half of it is the cost of production.

Slick 08-13-2005 06:56 AM

Maybe I shoudln't have bought my 2005 Eddie Bauer Expedition last month.

Gas here in Houghton, Michigan is $2.54 per gallon

Hunter_ST 08-13-2005 06:58 AM

I'm quitting my full time job soon (after all, there's no money in porn)... and I'm looking forward to the $200/month I'll be saving in gas.

No, it's not a ton of money, but hey, I'd rather have it than some oil company.

$1.5/liter here in Europe..nice isn't it :S

BRISK 08-13-2005 10:42 AM

Gas is like $2 a litre in Europe

pornguy 08-13-2005 10:45 AM

We have been paying about 2.30$ per gallon, but I think it is going to go up again. I know that in SoCal, it is hard to find it under 2.55$

No, we have different grades of octane available: 87 (cheap crap), 89 (standard), 92, 94 (liquid gold). Where can you get 98?

Elli 08-13-2005 11:57 AM

Wow, Sweden.. I knew it was expensive there, but $6 a litre? That puts things in perspective.

it amazes me how north americans cry when their gas price is going higher... in israel we pay $5.33 US a gallon.
which is almost $7 CAD :)

Darth_Porn 08-13-2005 12:44 PM

I think you guys in the US and Canada are a bit spoiled. You are used to gas being dirt cheap. The rest of the world (Europe especially) always paid a hell of a lot more. Even with these huge increases in gas prices in the US and Canada ... prices in Europe are still more expensive.

I think we might be forced into buying more euro style cares (Smart Cars are getting good market penetration in Vancouver right now) if our gas hit $5+ a litre. It might be a good thing overall. But it still hurts. :(

Don't forget they have lots of high cilinder but non-efficient cars that use shitloads of fuel tho ;)

Argh, I'm seen those Smart cars everywhere now. I don't understand why you'd pay so much for a car that uses almost no gas. Just go back 15 years and buy a honda CRX. Not only does the car cost you $3,000 to buy, you'll hardly ever fill it up :thumbsup

Spunky 08-13-2005 01:14 PM

Time to start looking at the alternative fueled cars..or hybrids

That's precisely why I refuse to buy American cars. They have 7 liter V8's that are making 500 hp. I'm sorry, but if you can't at least get 100 hp per liter out of a car, then you suck at engineering.

I can't wait for laws to finally start coming into effect that limit engine size. It's going to be gold seeing the "no replacement for displacement" guys going apeshit when their big bad corvette has a 2 liter turbocharged inline 6 :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

I'm perfectly happy with my 117 hp 1.7 liter honda civic. It gets retarded ammounts of km's per liter, is still 'peppy' enough to merge onto a highway without risking your life, and is built rediculously well. My old Ford Escort on the other hand, stuck with the American concept of "no replacement for displacement". It made lots of torque (for its engine size), but was slow as shit.

Japanese cars for life, for me.

I used to be of the same mind, but my 2002 Cavalier is getting 600kms for a tank, which I worked out to be damn good gas mileage. It's got a lot of get up and go, too. But then, I drive standard. I *make* it get up and go. ;)

Nowadays you can even get 1.4 liter engines with 100 bhp...lol and the diesel ones are also making serious improvement (while maintaining its much less expensive "drinking habbits")

:)

Don't even get me started on for example Mitsubishi's 1.5 engine with a Turbo and 150 bhp :winkwink: :1orglaugh

Anyway lets not even forget that most american cars are not only inferior motor wise but in corners and quality...well :1orglaugh

Well it depends on the way you drive also not only the engine+car itself ;)

how big is that deposit tho?

gecko 08-13-2005 06:15 PM

Forked out 1.17 per L just a few days ago

Quotealex 08-13-2005 06:25 PM

Maybe people will stop buying SUV now that oil price is more expensive.
