So yeah, I know all about the best pizza. I used to make it a couple dozen times a day.

But sometimes I still like to slum it and get the grease ball pizza for fun.

I can accept that answer.

Man... I now feel very blessed that I live in an area where at any given moment I have 60+ choices for pizza joints that deliver, plus any other type of food I could want.

Some of the pizza around here is fucking incredible. Words just don't do it justice..... so yeah, I'm a little bit harsh on the the big generic chain joints that crank out thin, light, generic crappola pizza like Domino's, PH, etc..... It's all overtpriced and way overrated.

Give me a pizza with some weight to it, like Santa Lucia, or Alladin's, or Gondola, or Chicago Phil's, or.......

Pete-KT 08-10-2005 10:38 PM

Come visit in Detroit Stuie we have our pizza huts still

PixeLs 08-10-2005 10:47 PM

Why don't you put that apron on and try making your own homemade pizza Stuart. That is if you still have enough time after taking care of your baby girl. ;)

Jeeze people, you've never once eaten something that's not 0 calorie health food??

I love grease as much as the next guy... BUT the point is that Pizza Hut's pizzas are dripping in grease. When there is THAT much grease, it's tough to enjoy :Oh crap

Where I'm from, we don't have a lot of pizza joints so I don't really know what real pizza tastes like... but we have some of the best sushi and seafood here :thumbsup

je_rome 08-11-2005 01:10 AM

Please note the distinct differences.

If you've never heard the term "Pizza pie" you are still wet behind the ears.

I've heard it... I just think it's stupid.

Population of Italy is 60 million... and they don't call their pizza "pie" either.

Agreed! There's an independent pizza place by me called Napolli's. 18-inch special with everything (sausage, pepperoni, ham, beef, onion, black olives, minced garlic, green pepper, mushrooms, and extra cheese) is only $12.95. They load them down so good with the toppings the pizza ends up weighing about 5 pounds too! :winkwink:

Dammit, now I'm hungry. :Oh crap

phogirl69 08-11-2005 02:06 AM

i must be crazy but i prefer "frozen pizza" to any delivery place. Pizza hut is WAAAAY to greasy, it's like swallowing oil and Domino is weird tasting. I like to buy those little frozen pizzas from the grocery store and pop them in the oven.

I do like Pizza hut's buffalo wings tho.

tristan_D 08-11-2005 02:32 AM

I can only imagine how hard it is without Pizza hut nearby.

cool1 08-11-2005 04:03 AM

Santa Lucia makes great pizza.
Mr Bones also makes a fairly good pizza pie, I also like that I can get Three pizzas for the price of one from them.
good for feeding the masses when they are over partying

Do yourself a favor, and find some small, independantly owned shop.

Amen! :thumbsup

You don't know pizza until you have had Montreal CHEESE ON TOP pizza!

Fat Phil's is good ... or Rotisserie Italienne!

Unless it's Pizza from an NYC or NJ pizza place it's crap.
The rest of it may as well be chuck e cheese. It all tastes like White Bread with Ketchup on it.

You've tried every single pizza outside of NY and NJ??? You must be HUGE!

Muff 08-11-2005 08:53 AM

http://www.mammaspizza.com/locations.esp

Give them a try. They have a location in Oakville. Their pizza isn't quite the same as PizzaHut but it's really good. Their pasta is their strong point. Try the Fettucini Alfredo.

As for the best Pizza i've ever had it would be from a place called Vesuvios. Used to on Jane Street in Toronto. Don't know if it is still there or not.

Lol... funny how a guy that calls himself "joe citizen" is making a big deal out of the the term "pizza pie" :1orglaugh

Better not call coke by the term "soda" or "soda pop" else he's going to blow a gasket :1orglaugh

Wiggles 08-15-2005 07:54 PM
