Not a horrible idea.
Make some diff colors like the Class of __, etc. :thumbsup :pimp |
If you joined in 2001 AND have less than 1000 posts, THEN you are TRUE elite :pimp

I have been quietly reading since 99. I signed up in 2004 and have an extremely low amount of posts. What color do I get?
I have been a member of ynot since 99, and have attended every major tradeshow since then. But, since I have 70 posts, Im a newb?? I actually had Pimpdog tell me to shut up and talk to him when I hit 1000 posts. Experience should outway post count in every way. |

2. You didn't register in 2001 I guess that means no, doesn't it. |
Well, I guess you caught me on that one. How bout I have been quietly reading for a long time. I started in the industry in 99.

Then again, who gives a shit about what Trey has to say ? He's an attention whore, and I can't blame him for being it. |
interesting ;)

I need to work on my post count!
|
If you're stupid enough to take someone seriously based on their post count without considering their join date, you're an idiot. It's way too easy to boost post count by sig spotting & useless hit it threads. But I do like the color idea. Shows some respect for people who have supported GFY since the beginning. :thumbsup

*check his join date*
hmm sure why not...2001 is cool :Graucho |

Not true. I see a bunch of 10k+ posters with the default color. Unless the color change process is a manual one and those people haven't been converted yet. |

Plus in 2006 we'll reach 5 and 10 status (5 years on the board and 10K posts) which means we'll have the right to veto any trade to another board. Also I think sig whore pension benefits should kick in after 6 years :Graucho |

2. You've been around long enough to know that anything pimpidiot says means less than bug snot. |
I have a small penis

The people who may succeed in business are those who concern themselves with the message and not the messenger. Most will never understand that, so it wouldn't make the slightest difference if "veterans" were highlighted in flashing day-glo pink.
And what the heck is "veteran status" supposed to signify? I don't recall too many innovations of the past 4 years having come from industry veterans and specific to this board, who do you think pushed it in the direction it has taken? Worthless posts are worthless posts, I don't care whether the author has been here 4 years or 4 days. |
Post count doesn't mean jack shit... I like the color idea but hell... i've posted 600 times over the last 4 years here... maybe Paul Nash knows who I am??

That would be a good idea to distinguish who are those old timers here and the newbies as well.
|
oh, how neat. another way to show off how insignificant your worthless pathetic life really is. Maybe we should have KB make a nice press release for the color change too?
Worthless fucking toad. |
who cares about the color of your name?
im sick of people bumping threads from 2003/4 because they found it in search. time to set an autolock after 3 months :thumbsup |

You may have been in this biz for a long time but they're referring to the people who read and posted on this board and helped it grow from "another new webmaster board" to "THE webmaster board" that has more traffic than all the other boards combined now. Sure it's silly and doesn't really mean anything but it's still some sort of recognition for the people that have made this board what it is. Almost all big message boards have some sort of "elite member" thingamadoo, why not GFY? |
