I don't know you at all. Never met you. But I can tell you one thing. The only impressions that I have of you or your company is visions of lipstick all over your head and now picturing you passed out on the beach or whatever. If I needed to contact someone from your company to do something serious, you're the last one I would go to. I'm seriously not trying to be mean. Just giving you an example of how others might feel too having not even met you.

The lipstick thing was kinda humorous but doing this a SECOND time? I dunno, I have been drunk off my ass but I can't even imagine being so sloshed that you're falling down or passing out or whatever.

You should try to give yourself some personal rules or something for the conventions. Like don't drink till a certain time, maybe after dinner at least. And a time to stop. Or try to keep it to a drink an hour or something. Maybe beer only if it's the liquor that does this to you. Because that is completely losing control. If you can't handle your alcohol, don't drink. Do you do that at home when you go out to the bar or whatever? I'm curious. Some peoples bodies just can't handle it.

RRRED you've always been cool in my book....ever since you worked at weg & i got mad respect for you, but coming out & basically saying this dude should be fired for not being able to hold his liquir is an insult. Not cool babe.

And i agree, people do need to set limits, but some people are alchoholics & don't know what a limit is, it doesn't mean they should be shunned by the industry. It wasn't exactly a IBM convention. :2 cents:

first off, you got drunk, passed out and people fucked with you...jesus, are we not there to have fun? maybe he doesn't get a chance to part a lot, and conventions are a time to let loose...who cares, it looked like fun from his perspective and from those fucking with him, i could easily be in either shoes

second, i have never heard of 2much until now, and would have never heard it unless i watched that video and saw it on your shirt, and also saw it in your post here...and I don't think I am the only one...while this is bad press, it still is press, and I can almost guarantee there were more than a couple sign ups to 2much in the past day from this post and video alone

third, whoever said he needs to be fire for getting drunk and passing out should be fired from whatever they are doing, cause they are NO FUN! LOL

I understand what you're saying and I tried to be careful how I worded that. I said "If I were your boss" and "I don't know you" and "We need to watch out for each other better"... and When I say "You'd be OUT" I didn't say fired. He definately would not be going to any shows at least for a while. He'd be at the office pushin papers and doing janitorial duties to make up for it.

I don't think he intentionally meant to make an ass out of himself or his company. But you gotta buck up and figure out how to do something different next time because this is obviously a repeated thing.

Once someone is at that point where they don't even know where they are or what their name is, though, someone needed to step up and help the guy out. I mean I wasn't there so I don't know what happened but WTF... Like I said if that happened to me, I sure hope someone would get me the fuck outta there.

I now totally agree with you in this context. And yea, where was his crew to help him out? Seems to me like he got deserted.

I'll tell ya one thing, if someone ever dumped ketchup on my head drunk & passed out, i'd have 3 crew members tossing the fuckers in the ocean.

And i'd do the same for them.

We all gotta watch out for each other a little better. I would hope someone would to that for me.

Thank you RRRED, funny how short everyone's memories are.

He told us this was his way of marketing. I put it in HD. He didn't want it up, all he had to do was ask.

jscott 08-09-2005 08:27 PM

media guy, we met before you zoned out, you seemed cool tho

couldve been worse, could have been talking shit and starting fights, at least you got drunk and minded your own business and passed out (from what i seen)

Toolz 08-09-2005 08:37 PM

You get drunk in public and pass out, just be lucky you don't get robbed, raped, or killed. Ketchup on your head is the least of your worries.

media 08-09-2005 08:43 PM

You know what bro... I had a talk with you when you were still somewhat coherent at the Amateur Bash party about you sporting the name "Media Guy" on your badge, I told you that what you've been doing was not very kosher, especially since our names were so very similar which I had started to hear some backlash on..

People were saying "Yeah that media guy was really fucked up and made an ass out of himself" Alot of people agreed with me that there was too much of a similarity for something like this to be going on, That reflects back on me because some people do not know what I look like and have not had the chance to meet me personally at a show.

Guilty by name association is never something I enjoy. I am just glad that nothing bad happened and that I had a few people there to calm me down a little more and just find the humor in all of it.

I was the one who ripped the name Media off your badge because I did not want anyone to associate the name any further than had already been done which I had really gotten upset about.

Honestly Greg, I do feel bad for partaking in the events that followed after your passing out on the first day and at the suite, which I appologize for, after watching the video of it I did feel sort of bad. It really was meant to be all in fun, but I think it went too far. We did periodicly check on you to make sure you were still breathing the final night at the Amateur Bash, and made sure that the guy in the wheelchair stopped running over your feet and throwing beer bottles on your head.

This should be a wake up call to you that you need to control consumption of alcohol at the shows. I have had some close calls at shows which have made me slow down the amount of intake I partake in. And I know when to say when and leave the scene.

I do think it was pretty good marketing at some points, but other events that happened you should really learn from. Like the womens restroom thing, some of those things were a big much..

A few people told me that if you got fired from 2much that they would hire you for marketing stunts like this though. So maybe there is hope yet on that avenue if this type of thing is what you want to keep doing..

Again Greg , I would like to appologize for the Salt and Mustard on the first day.

I'm not sure of the chronology of events. But I've heard you were drunk at the GFY Warm Up party, unconscious standing up next to a table, with cup in hand and people were taking photo ops with you but you weren't even concious. That was before the show even started

The next day was the ketchup day?

What day did you piss in the pool?

BTW ... in case you can't remember - You were passed out at party for over an hour http://www.dormbucks.com/mediaguy.jpg

You may want to re-consider drinking at shows.

Cory W 08-09-2005 08:54 PM

Exactly Brett.

My girlfriend saw him pissing first, and it was not in the pool. It was on the steps where you walk up to the top pool. And it was not a little bit.

I really don't care, but I don't think I should be labeled a jerk for filming it. Look at all the pictures that were taken, then compare that too the fact that the guy has called it marketing in the past.

Not my problem if the industry has a pathetic IQ for marketing.

JerseyPuma 08-09-2005 09:04 PM

I think everyone just gets too wound up about all this shit. This guy obviously doesn't know his limits when it comes to drinking. Everyone gets all slopped out and passes out once in a while, but not repeatedly, and especially not repeatedly at trade shows where they're representing their company. Solution? Dont bring this guy to any more trade shows. As long as his drinking doesnt affect his work then there is no need to let him go.

And any sort of backlash against the filming of it is just so retarded that its not even worth discussing. I probably wouldnt have squirted ketchup on the guys head (as I've been known to put back a few myself and wouldnt want the karma train heading for me), but I certainly would have been taping someone else doing it and having a chuckle.

iwantchixx 08-09-2005 09:14 PM

Really, all you did was pass out. Big deal. if anyone should be castrated is the morons who tooka dvantage of you and platered you with ketchup. WTF are they 12?

Obviously you didn't read any of the rest of the antics, this was the second time Cory was involved with this schmuck, the first time he helped him, no apology, the second time he filmed.

yup.

Although really, I don't consider getting that drunk or filming it too much of a serious offense on either side. As long as you don't start swinging at people, and they didn't do anythign to really hurt you.

BigasMoe 08-09-2005 09:56 PM

Hey Media Guy I seen you passed out in the chairs while they were doing that to you. I hated to see it happen to you cause I knew where it was gonna go, and now here it is. I will say you didn't get up kicking ass like I would have done, so I can respect you on that. Diving in the pool and walking away was a good out. Again I hate that it had to come to this, but Hey You Fucked Up, now Move On and Don't Look Back cause it'll only Hold You Back!

good point...a lot of people tend to be violent and want to start shit when they are drunk...(a couple of my friends are like that and it really does suck)...

if you didnt caused too much trouble I guess its no big deal...couldve been worse!..just try to drink less next time :upsidedow

Axeman 08-09-2005 10:03 PM

Key is when your representing the company you're an employee of, you must act in a different way then if it was your own company or you were an individual webmaster etc. Doesn't mean you can't party, but you must know what you do and say reflects on the company you represent. I don't think enough reps of companies take this to heart enough when attending these shows.

I had no excuse and certainly no reason for having done that, and while some might have been amused - others were probably not. To them I doubly apologize, and hope it?s not for having spoiled an otherwise good show.

To friends I may have vexed ? thanks for keeping cool heads with me the rest of the show, and I certainly hope you all accept my apology. Truly I regret hurting anyone?s feelings or impression of their relationship with me.

While I deserve what happened while lying in that beach chair drunkenly passed out, and more (thanks to those there for not taking it any further), 2much and the good people who were with us and company members dependent on a solid and successful enterprise like ours certainly don?t deserve the bad impression and negative attention an act of idiocy of this caliber can produce.

To them and those to whom this was more than a stupid college prank but stupid unprofessional behaviour, I want to really ask forgiveness, on grounds that it won?t ever go that way again. For those who might be hurt professionally or personally I also ask the moderator/webmaster of this board to delete this thread, just so those whose fault it wasn?t won?t pay for something they had no control over. I?m already facing my own shame and difficulty with forgiveness.

My actions were not a reflection of the quality of work or people who make up the 2much team, nor should it become a reflection of my friends and associates? qualities as both people and professionals.

While I should probably be asked to leave 2much, I certainly don?t want that to happen and hope that the company that has formed around me can still accept me there.

I don?t know how to end this except to make final apologies and ask that while I may have been dumb and insensate, I certainly am not that and hope everyone can overlook the incident and give me the opportunity to show it.

Peace.

MediaGuy

passing out more then once a convention is not cool.

I think passing out once is not the point why his company is mad at him, but it's probably (as that's how I see it as somebody who wasn't there) that he seemed to have been drunk all the time....

sickbeatz 08-10-2005 02:37 AM

* You hurt some peoples feelings? -- Great, everyone can go fuck themselves ;)
* You made yourself look like an idiot? -- You were drunk and probably having fun
* You talked a bunch of shit? -- Who doesn't?
* You escalated a whole scene of drama out of nothing? -- Atlesat you got some attention, I would have been entertained!
* You confessed to your spouse about cheating on her? Oops... (had to throw that in)
* You ended up spending a wack load of money on crack? Unfortunate.
* You accidently killed hooker? She was going to die anyways.
