Those that went to internext....post here

What was your opinion of the show, and the new format?

i have heard from a few people that they didn't like it, it was too much more like a party, and less like a convention

report back to us!....and be honest, tell us what you thought

Didn't care for it.....what if you wanted to go and network but did not want to go on the convention floor.....you would have been fucked....

It was my first Internext, so I can't compare against the past but in my .02, it was a great show - first-class hotel, location, sponsors.

Sure it's easy to get distracted by all the parties but if you wanted to focus on business, you certainly could do so.

I met quite a few people, everyone was friendly and had no complaints.
I'll definetly be going again!

I found the format to be better than any other internext I've gone too.

There were less people, but I attribute that to the surfers and wannabe's that could not afford to come.

I saw about 90% of the people I wanted too. Which is unheard of at a show. Our Cabana was heavily trafficked, and our party was a success.

I have to give it to AVN on this one, they did a pretty good job. Always room for improvement, though. Seeing children on Sunday at the Hotel and the public at the pool while we were still going strong with shoots, nudity, etc need to be addressed.

On the other hand, I'm not looking forward to Vegas, where it's going to cost 900.00 bucks a night for a room.

I have to concur with you.
Sunday afternoon was pretty fucked up when you had a bunch of kids with their parents walking around amazed at what they saw.
Definitely a major blunder on the part of the hotel.
Other than that I liked this format and the fact that you could meet most people pretty easily.

the show hours were too short, I was just waking up at 3pm! , other then that it was great, I really liked all the pool side activities and cabanas

Internext report

Thursday:

GFY Party was good...great networking...free beer and lost of people. Alot of the sponsors from gfy to the cool guys at pussycash.com gave away drinks tickets. People were pretty cool and this is definetly a good way to start. DWhen you ran out of tickets, drinks were not expensive and there was plenty of free beer the whole night.

The party at the strip club was kinda lame - too many people...open to the public...not enough room...waiting in line...Just ditched this one and went back to the gfy party. Got laid and had fun...

Friday:

Spent less than one hour on the show room floor. Went straight to Ibill and got the same bullshit as always. Saw alot of the regulars but alot more of the newbies. The cabana ideas outside were great...smashbucks, silvercash, oe tech, pinktv, cybersocket, pussycash, topbucks....you guys were great...thanks for the royal treatment...

The bikini contest was good but seemed like it would have been the same-o-same- except this year they mixed pornstars with the models...Ron Jeremy and Carmen Luvana were hanging out with everyone...some sluts were getting naked during the contest breaks...free drinks kept TONS of people at poolside and cabanas...

Alot of people were also in the lobby hanging out...seemed like the best place to network was the pool and the lobby on Friday...showed floor seemed very weak...

Friday Night:
Went to the AVN party...had beds outside at the Marina and one restuarant was open for the party inside...no one was dancing...good food but everyone just sats around and hung out...drinks were 6 to 8 bucks and the party seemed very lame for the hype it was given...totally expected more..

Club Deep Party...this party was better and had no problems with the usually south beach bullshit. People were having fun but the distance to get there had people hyped on the way down but wyped at the end. Tons of hot bitches but seemed more like it was 50/50 on Internext to the public.

Saturday:

Went to the show and spent a 1/2 hour there...back to the pool for all the fun...got alot done there....

had a shoot in the elevator and the parking garage - both were fun

went to the pink tv party and they had three areas set up for people - main - private and production area...the main area had beds and was covered by a tent...the first dj was good... live sex shows but all girl on girl - later on it was girls on the pole...no sex machine - no one got on it and did the machine...the first dj started out good then got lame music...then dj was better but could have played music for people to dance to...drinks were free to 12 but if you had the tickets then it would have been until they stopped...bartenders were slow and complained about tips...after 12 without tickets...drinks were 8 bucks and up including water

party in 3371 was kick ass - pizza and drinks and people were very cool - sunny leone showed up and some other porn stars - great networking and hanging out - left around 5am - went by the hot tub and it became a very fun sexual escapade...this shit was fun.

Sunday:

went to the show for about 20 minutes and ended up more over at the pool -

what is with the fucking kids...does anybody know its porn?

left around 5 and headed back home...

Overall:

The show felt like it was more of a party than a convention. The showroom floor was weak and the parties could have been better than they were - the two best were club deep party and pink tv with club deep getting the nod...

the after parties were kick ass and the people seemed really, really nice.

The $300 dollar ticket price was crazy and it didnt seem like they had the same amount of people as last year. Hopefully they dont fuck up again next year and AVN can get it right.

Hope all had fun and got laid

I had an awesome time from beginning to end. Had so many friends to catch up on and business was hot. I tried to take a break on sunday by the pool and within 1/2 hour had 4 sales, one while I was even getting a free massage.

Looking forward to seeing most at the qwebec show at beginning of sept.

Was the massage at the Macaddybucks Cabana?

If so, I missed meeting you.

As much as I'd still like to break you in half for posting the shit about me you did, I do have to say this.

Thanks for the props on the Club Deep party. Were you one of the lucky ones to get to see Lil Jon and the Ying Yang twins dip in and just as fast dip out? They never made it back to the VIP section. Oh well.

I found the show both productive and enjoyable. Made some killer contacts, and spent time with some great friends and clients.
Other than leaving premise for the topbucks dinner (which was the best event of the weekend in my opinion), I enjoyed chilling at the tables thru out the lobby and meeting/greeting those wandering by.
As my buddy Corvett said 'if you sit there, they will come....'

Everyone I was able to meet and spend time with, thanks for everything

this was my first year @ florida internext, but not my first industry show. i liked the floor set up, it wasn't too crowded, but there were quite a few booths, which made it easy to find specific companies to talk business with. the hours for the floor seemed oddly short (11AM-3PM) when the party list was until the wee hours of the morning.

it was hard to figure out which party to go to when because there were just SO many going on - i don't like option paralysis! otherwise, the poolside stuff was typical, i think - lots of drinking, lots of bikinis (it's hot and humid of course there are bikinis!) and the ability to have a cabana seemed nice. i thought we had a great time overall and were able to talk to anyone we wanted to about business - people were very accessible, mostly all being around the pool or in the lobby.

i thought the show was productive and not "just a porn con" as some people seem to think. since we're all oversaturated with naked/sex/porn/fucking i think we also need to learn to look past the eye candy if we really want to do business. if you weren't doing any, it was probably your own fault. (don't get me wrong, i looked and drooled a few times too, but it didn't stop me from carrying on the conversations i needed to have with people!)

This was my second show....

1) The shorter floor hours sucked.

2) The parties were great. My thighs STILL hurt from dancing all night at China White, and the TopBucks Greek Dinner Party was fabulous.

3) I did like the whole hotel being adult biz people. Having the freedom to talk about anal gangbangs in the lobby without fear of shocking some retirees or exposing little kids to depravity was nice. But it should have been extended to Sunday, as well.

4) I think if the passes are going to stay $300, every full price pass should have the opportunity to get a half price pass for a spouse or companion. Even if it does get abused, AVN gets $450 for 2 passes and that is quite enough IMO. They really should implement the talent pass idea that was presented before the show..Offer a $50 pass to talent that isn't good for the seminars, lunch, breakfast, etc. Let the company that is bringing them worry about their expenses.

5) It would be awesome to have a shuttle going to and from the airport on departure day.

6) I loved not having to worry about breakfast and lunch..especially when I spent $40 on a BLT and an appetizer at the Cafe and realize how much I was saving, lmfao.

All in all, I had a great time. Next time I'm just going to save a bit more money and stay in the hotel instead of off site to save dough. Going back and forth sucked ass. I loved meeting so many people, and I learned new stuff in the seminars. But there is always room for improvement, and I do hope that the antendees offer feedback, and I also hope our feedback is considered in the future.

Worst show ever BUT?

I saw who I needed to and cleared up some issues, got some great new products and even some help on the way.

I wanted more exhibitors and more time on the floor and we need more private suite chillouts rather than loud parties.

I go to make money not play.

Special shout outs to the crews from Mr. Skin, AEBN, PE Cash, Adam & Eve, Mario from Platinum Bucks.

This was our 2nd show as well and I liked the format for the most part. I think that the actual floor coulda been opened a little longer, and maybe the window of time shifted to later on in the day (nobody I knew was even up at 11am, unless they just hadn't gone to sleep yet). Breakfast/Lunch was a nice touch, but Lunch/Dinner would have kicked much ass. I like chase's idea of a discounted "talent" pass

This is my 2nd show...kinda liked the new format. Not real big on the floor but loved the Cabana idea and other marketing for the companies. It did feel smaller from last year but all in all was happy.

I had an awsome time but then again I am basing that on the people we hung with and met, not the logistics of the show. For me it's the company, not the show...that's just me. We make our own fun.

I enjoyed the show.
I prefer longer show floor hours as it really is the place to do the best networking! I had a blast and was happy to see many familiar friendly faces and meeting lots of new ones too!
Internext for me rates in at about 7 out of 10.
I can't wait for Vegas baby!

I dunno....

I visited "0" cabanas.....not that i didnt want to.....

its just not as inviting as a booth....

a booth...... you've got no choice but to pass by and checkout the free stuff and literature.... not too mention.....the people who are waiting there to talk to you, and they are behind the booth, so you can easliy recognize who to talk to and who to wait to talk to.

a cabana...... unless you know the people renting the cabana....i didnt feel comfortable walking into a cabana and saying "hey, who is with so and so company here??" sure you can look for a shirt with a logo, but still, all in all, the cabana idea, as a promotion like a booth......in exchange for a booth... was a bad idea.....now, on the other hand, if you had a booth on the floor, and a cabana..... now thats not a bad marketing idea...

but for me..... I just didnt feel comfortable walking into a cabana or up to one, unless i knew someone there.

I really enjoyed the new format. Fewer people there but they were people who were serious about doing business. The floor was only open a few hours a day and that's all that was needed. The cabanas were an excellent idea.

As I told Aly the only problems I had were the food ;) Restaurants were closed for a few hours between lunch and dinner (and maybe even between breakfast and lunch) and they ran out of more than half the menu items on Saturday for lunch

I also thought the "free breakfast and lunch" hours should have been extended. Hey, I'll all about the food ;)

But all in all I thought it was a great show and I did biz there, saw some old friends, met some new ones and had a good time

Hey Everyone,
This is Craig at Sexkey.com. It's good to be back from the show. I'm sure we are all beat.

I wasn't sure how the show was going to work out with all the changes, but in truth, it was a good show. You had to work to find the people you wanted to talk to, but if you stayed focused, you were able to see everyone at one time or another down by the pool.

For next year, the best place to hang, are the tables by the Splash Bar, as everyone would come by that small area between the two sets of cabanas.
If you had one of those tables you had more traffic than any booth/cabana combined.

Service was very much improved, in fact was outstanding. The hotel really geared up for us. In fact, talking a few of the staff, they were working double shifts in the pool during the day and the bar at night. Getting drinks was never a problem.

I know a lot of us got a ton of networking done, but the truth of all shows is that the real work/benefit comes a week later with your new/or more solidified relationships.

BAD, BAD, BAD, Diplomat for letting families in on Sunday. That was just wrong on every level. A little greed from them maybe on renting out the vacated rooms, but they had to of made more than enough on the bar tabs to justify keeping the place internext only.

Finally, thanks to everyone who took the trouble to sponsor or attend. It is always great seeing you all. It's like the family we only see on holidays that you wish you saw more of.

Can't wait to see you all again.... Craig

Hey Guys, this is lara from IwantU.com

I thought the show was a success, there were more people last year than this year but overall It was not that bad. I just think that $300 is a bit too much for webmasters to come to these shows and meet up with the big companies.
The floor hours were not that bad, it could go till 5 just because everyone was sleeping in.
We never got the chance to make it to lunch so maybe next time there could be a cheaper fee for people who are not interested in the food package.
The parties were a lot of fun and I met some really nice people.
All in all it was a success, let?s hope the price goes down a bit to help us all make some more contacts.

Great people... parties were so so but it wasn't really the sponsor's faults. Overall, a nice event.

Just so you all know, I'm saving and filing all this feedback for improvements for next year. Some of it's conflicting, of course, but there's some great stuff here and it WILL be listened to. You can also feel free to hit me up personally at: [email protected] with ideas and suggestions.

JaceXXX, thanks for starting this thread!

from all the number of shows i've been to... i have realised the best and most productive way of meeting people and doing biz is by going to the main hangout spot...

usually its a pool side or some bar where everyone goes to... not sure what it is that the shows lack where people get away from them and end up at an away location... maybe they should setup a nice lounge section within the show to keep everyone in one spot...

and parties... there should only be one per night, so everyone is in one location, and not too far from the hotel.

Having gone to shows for over 6 years now, I thought this one was pretty good in some respects and lacking in others...

pros:
- Security only allowing attendees.
- Attendance appeared down, but the quality of people was up
- Diplomat is always a great hotel, relatively speaking
- Close to Atlanta so it's a short flight (I know...for me anyway)

cons:
- Security. A bit gung ho at times, but nothing to bad. They just seemed to be everywhere
- Already mentioned, but seeing kids on Sunday. Not good at all
- Could a brother get something more than four sandwich choices on that diner menu?
- Too many off-site parties. The place is big enough that more evening events could have been held on-site

just my $0.02

I saw about 90% of the people I wanted too. Which is unheard of at a show. Our Cabana was heavily trafficked, and our party was a success.

I have to give it to AVN on this one, they did a pretty good job. Always room for improvement, though. Seeing children on Sunday at the Hotel and the public at the pool while we were still going strong with shoots, nudity, etc need to be addressed.

On the other hand, I'm not looking forward to Vegas, where it's going to cost 900.00 bucks a night for a room.
I agree with you 100%.

:2cents

We did a lot of business at this show. So much so that I never got to the show floor, being in meetings in the suite.

The security was a bit much; forgetting your badge was a bitch!

And I still think that there needs to be a model badge or something to allow for those that bring models or guests to be in the hotel. The show floor is different, in some ways. That alone would have dilluted the "sausage-fest" vibe and would have given the hotel some security and kept the general public out, if that was the goal.

My 2 Cents....

I liked the idea of everyone in the hotel was there for the show and in the business.

Yes there were less people but not so many less that it effected our business that needed to be done.

I like the format I think that is got a bit extreme with the selling of everything including what you wipe your ass with (a great spot to promo btw it was probably the only spam I read all weekend LOL )

Overall they did a good job.

does anyone know how much sponsorships costed? i would love to see a breakdown chart of what each thing costed, add that up with the almost $1,000,000 they made of badge sales....and end up with a final figure to see what avn made off this show

i bet it is INSANE, they had to profit in the low six digits from this show, easily

This was my second Florida show, but I have been to many many industry shows.

I was impressed by the way the hotel staff handled us. They were very approachable and service was top notch, especially compared to other hotels we've invaded. The closed hotel was a great idea, and then opening it up at night worked out great. Call girls gotta make money too, ya know. ;)

I thought the show floor hours were a stroke of genius. Nobody makes it to the show before 11am anyway. And closing it early gave people time to come down to the pool or the bar or the cabanas and check out the business down there before getting ready for dinner.

The parties seemed better organized than some. Having only two or three a night was easier to pick through than if there were more, and they all seemed very well attended.

About the hotel letting the public in on Sunday: If there had been a clear time issued that we had to have all the porno propoganda put away by, then I don't think there would have been such a problem. The hotel did have to make the switch over at some point. But having that time more publicly known would have been more useful, I think.

Overall I found it to be a great show both in who attended and how much business got done. I didn't even mind the branding everywhere.
