Dutchies: is it legal to operate poker-related sites?

I operate a number of poker-related sites. Sending traffic to sponsored links is how they make money, so I don't operate any poker room software myself, I'm only an affiliate. The sites are physically hosted in Australia and so are the sponsors. What are the dutch laws on this subject? Thans in advance.

No problem. In Holland, only the government can do gambling-related business. As long as it's not a Dutch company, you're safe.

But my income will be generated from promoting poker sites. How is that? I'd like to register a company in the Netherlands for my profits.

Why not register it offshore?

That's asking for trouble, registering it in Holland. Wouldn't walk that path..

That's why I'm asking ;-)

I notice sites like poker.pagina.nl are owned and operated by dutch BVs, and obviously they do make money from poker affiliate programs.

So - all my business is outside of NL - the servers, the domain registrars, the sponsors, the visitors - I just happen to be dutch.

In that case you would be safe..
Why do you want it registered in Holland anyway ?

Offshore is an option, but I wouldn't feel as comfortable.

Register a British Limited (Ltd.), and register that in Holland.

Cheap and very well "protected".
