Bah all these talks about nukes etc is such a waste of time. if anything they might be able to make a dirty bomb but the fallout from a dirty bomb will be minimal...
|
Be realistic though. How many freedoms do you think you'll lose that will actually effect you in a negative way? I always hear this "taking away or freedom" talk. I have yet to find myself censored or restricted in anyway, and I doubt I will see this ever happen.

In a "regular" war, US is superior. No doubt about that. Just look at Iraq. Iraq is not a "regular" war. You don't have an enemy force dug down in the desert somewhere that you can blow up with a missile shot from 100 miles away. There you have suicide bombers, snipers and rebels hiding in houses. They are willing to fight eye to eye and die for their cause. Is the US army willing to fight on those terms? |
Thinking that terrorists are stupid is the same mistake that a lot of world leaders have made to their cost over the years. Most leading cities are pretty soft targets for the sort of evil bastards that want to kill and maim indiscriminately. The information and networking now available via the web and the determination that these people show really shouldn?t be underestimated especially after our own governments and Special Forces have in a lot of cases trained them. :2 cents:

Not sure if Al Qada has nukes, but Israel sure does and setting off a nuke here would be the final push needed for the Americans to wipe out the middle east.

IEDs are effective precisely because they're so simple. Small, powerful, and anyone with basic chemistry and electronics skills can put one together with a reasonable expectation of survival and resonable expectation of causing casualties. |

If they do have a nuke, the smartest place to set it off would have to be LA, right in the heart, thats if they are trying to kill as many people as possible (which I assume is the objective) I mean where the fuck are you gonna go run to? It takes me at least an hour to get from the Deep Valley to Wilshire, if they drop it in LA everyone here is fucked.....

Its fucking bullshit almost 4 years after 9/11 this is even an issue. Instead of concentrating on the real problem and eliminating it Bush has done the exact opposite. bin Laden and al-Zawahri are still on the loose and you can bet there are more attacks in the works. Meanwhile, invading Iraq has done nothing more than create even more hatred towards the West along with tens of thousands more terrorists. Anyone who thinks these people don't have the capability to carry out such an attack is a fool. They are well financed and it is known that Russia has missing plutonium. It is also known that the US has found both schematics of nuclear weapons and blueprints of nuclear factories from confiscated Al-Qaida computers. Its going to happen folks, and if you don't believe it just ask yourself this. Why hasnt there been even one attack here since 9/11? We know there are terrorists here, but nothing has happened. They do not want to shoot their load on some pitiful suicide bombing, they are reloading for the big one.

Good points there. I would have to agree as would alot of Intel ppl that they are 100% sure there are sleeper cells in the usa.. When and if they will strike is anyone's guess, but I do belive it will happen. |

I wouldn't be worried a suitcase nuke will take out about 5 city blocks. Its only if they drop the bomb from a plane that we would have mass devestation. Now if you can fly over DC ( a no fly zone ) and drop a nuke, hell you deserve blowing those fuckers up!
Maybe someone in the Air Force will finally put up a radar and have fighter jets intercept air traffic that has gone of course rather than wait for something to happen and then scramble. |
2KT nuke is a very small nuke, Hiroshima (little boy) was 13KT. Shockwave, heat and initial radiation would be leathal at tops 200 yards from blast. Fallout would depend on alot of factors, but you would be safe at 50miles. Only about 10% of the blast energy ends up as residual radiation. I'd say tops 20k dead if detonated in regular populated area, but possibly higher at city centers. Nukes are pretty easy to detect with sensors thou.
I'm more concerned they will use bio weapons, Pneumonic plauge at major airport hubs would be pretty nasty. |

How can anybody argue these people are NOT stupid?
Can you name any force through history that won out and came to to power by blowing *THEMSELVES* up? Somebody's confused. |

so far as nuke's go, the best offensive move terrorists could make would be do detonate one in either the west coast, or denver, and let the weather patterns carry the fallout as far as it would go and destroy what they can of the agriculture market. you want worldwide catastrophe, thats it. |
i hope it happens
the south is safe |
