Canon 20D worth it?

Compared to the Canon 350D, is it worth it to buy the 20D instead?

It's interesting that not only does the EOS 350D not use the same sensor as is used in the EOS 20D but that Canon deliberately designed the pixel count of the 350D to be less than its bigger brother. Despite this there's really no visible difference between the performance of the two in this test. You could easily perform a blind test and not know which crop is from which camera. Remember that both also use DIGIC II hence identical tonal and color response.

craps
compare the noise level of both and you'll get at least one difference.
and as it was mentioned 20D has greater working resource compared to 350.
also there are lots of usefull features you'll never get in those amateur level cams.

though if you don't plan to shoot for print or huge billboards - 350D is just what you need

Now here a stupid question... can you even shoot for print with the 20D? Sure.. it depends on the size of the print.. but.. are 8.2 mega pixels enough for print?

when I say print - I mean glance magazine's full page

I suppose you plan to shoot content with the cam, right?

For a 1 page spread shot RAW it will work for a magazine spread, but we usually use out 1ds mark 2 for all the magazine shoots we do. But i have shot with my 20d for adult mags

No, no content shooting. I just want top play a little, but there is no point is buying something... that I will run into limits with... not for this relative small price difference.

I think for 90% of what you do, you won't notice the difference. Why not spend the extra $500 and buy a really nice extra lens.

Alrighty, I got the 20D coming with a nice lens, UV filter, 2 gig compact flash, and an extra battery. That should be good to play a little. Now lets see what I can find to take pictures of.

20d aint shit without a good lens.. no one understands that. you will need to spend at least 1300 on a lens. Then the 20d is a great camera,
Duke

Thanks, I also got a good lens with it... I have seen some prints of the pictures that were taken with the 20D, really nice.

The guy also told me that the UV filter helps.
