Lee stole Oprano's member's database when he had access to it while helping Oprano transition from their old thread board to VB.

Looks like he's mailed it to Rainbow Content. As a moderator of Oprano, I'm stumped that he would do such a thing.

Well, I would but to get the whole thing it would look like I was spamming another board.

The gist thus far is that spam from adultwebmasternewelstter promoting rainbow content started showing up in all the oprano members boxes.

When Nick found out he figured (according to his posts) that Lee must have grabbed the emails for the member base from the database while Lee was helping the guys debug during the switch to the vbulletin software.

Last post I read, Nick was saying that Lee (or someone representing Lee) was claiming it's a GFY conspiracy thing.

Anyway, not gonna recap the whole thing right now as I have to go eat something but I'm not gonna post a link to Oprano either because that wouldn't be real polite to Lens.

I can catagorically state that we do not have in our possesion now, or ever have had in our possesion the Oprano memberlist, as you quite rightly stated, that would be a shitty thing to do.

However, from those people who have stated they got the email from the AWN over on Oprano, having searched our board database, 90% of them registered on one of our resource properties using the addies they received the mailout to.

I have even taken the time to tell Newton of the addies as i have found their usernames on our boards to ask them if that was the addie they received the emails to, so far, most of them have been confirmed as recieved through those email addresses they used to register on our boards with.

In fact, the only people who as of right now, i cant catagorically state joined one of our other forums, are yourself, and toni.

Although, i do recall an issue we had with the list a year or two back where your addie was added to the AWN without your consent when we had the single opt-in script in place.

Other than that, i am at as much of a quandry as you folks on Oprano are as to how your and Tonis emails got added to the list because, as of right now, they are the only ones who have posted over there that i CANT find on another of our forums.

If they never received an Opt in from you previous to receiving your newsletter, then it stands to reason that your newsletter has no OPT IN mechanism in place.

With that said, that only proves one thing, that your Newsletter is indeed, SPAM.

I am a former expert in this, and have seen this technique used before. The, I dont' know how our email got in my DB, but I know it's a true opt in.

Until recently the AWN was only a single opt-in mechanism, so yes, it is quite possible that anyone could have entered any email address in to it and the persons who addie was entered wouldnt have received an opt-in mail, im not denying that, nor am i denying that we sent the email itself, we did arlier this afternoon.

My only concern here, isnt that people received the email, but where / how their emails made their way in to the AWN list especially individuals over on Oprano.

I hate to do this to you but your story doesnt hold any water for me either. In the course of working for Serge and Mike AI I have registered several nicks on Oprano and only Oprano. These users have never posted and never registered on any board.

Im sure you can also appreciate the fact that Ive been doing this since 1993 that I do in fact own serveral domain names that those user ids were tied to.
Ive just polled all of my email and I have your newsletter for each and every user name I am responsible for.

However, from those people who have stated they got the email from the AWN over on Oprano, having searched our board database, 90% of them registered on one of our resource properties using the addies they received the mailout to. I have even taken the time to tell Newton of the addies as i have found their usernames on our boards to ask them if that was the addie they received the emails to, so far, most of them have been confirmed as recieved through those email addresses they used to register on our boards with. In fact, the only people who as of right now, i cant catagorically state joined one of our other forums, are yourself, and toni. Although, i do recall an issue we had with the list a year or two back where your addie was added to the AWN without your consent when we had the single opt-in script in place. Other than that, i am at as much of a quandry as you folks on Oprano are as to how your and Tonis emails got added to the list because, as of right now, they are the only ones who have posted over there that i CANT find on another of our forums.
