Bethlehem - A 63-year-old Free State man faces charges of bestiality after he was allegedly caught having sex with a goat near Harrismith, police said on Sunday.
The man then allegedly assaulted the 14-year-old boy who saw him "without his pants behind the goat" in a field on Saturday afternoon, police spokesperson Christopher Mophiring said.
"A community member from the village also noticed the incident and informed the boy to report the matter to the tribal leader.
"On their way... they were confronted and allegedly assaulted by the suspect and his son," Mophiring said.
The 63-year-old, from Makholokweng Village near Harrismith, was arrested and will appear in the town's magistrate's court on Monday.
