Anyone here use Morpheus.. KaZaaa

WTF is it with this program??

I checked the "My Shared Folder" & notice that while files are being downloaded, that there are txt files, named like; kazaadownload101268791418501972 , so I decided to open one of them with notepad & they html pages with ads & such?
Also, anyway to make this proggie faster? It's REALLY SLOW!

I'm on Morpheus now, actually. It sucks my nuts, but it's the only place to get hard-to-find MP3's sometimes. I miss the old-school Napster.

The best program by far for getting stuff is IRC, but if you want to take the easy way, the best file sharing program out there is Direct Connect, blows Kazaa and Morpheus out of the water....Direct Connect has 500 terabytes of stuff and is growing every day.....download it and try it out at http://www.neo-modus.com/

you can thank me later

I thought IRC was a chat program?

How do you use it for file sharing or downloading?

any links that'll help explain how it works, or where to download?

Morpheus and Kazaa both install all that spyware shit, even if you can remove it, I don't want to support companies that do stuff like that..

I thought morpheus & Kazaa were one & the same?

I use morpheus & when the downloads are queued, it shows in My shared files' Kazaa download1234567899000

Spacedog - chill out FFS.

When Morpheus downloads files, it downloads them to its own internal cache - notice how sometimes it will download something in chunks from different people?

Well, it's putting it all in that file cache with an index header, and when it's done, reorganises the file into its original form.

{sarcasm}REALLY???no shit. and ALL this time i've just been putting up with it..{/sarcasm}
*sigh*
the point isn't that you can disable them, the point is about supporting a company that tries to put that shit on your HD. telling him to look at his firewall is just to show him whats going on.. for now and in the future.. he doesn't even know about them.. it's not my problem to go to any length on how to disable them..

A friend of mine turned me onto DIRECT CONNECT a few months ago ...

It is a community of people using a network of PRIVATE SERVERS to share files ...

They currently have almost A PETRABYTE of data on the network ... well worth checking out !!!

DIRECT CONNECT IS DA FUCKING BOMB BABY !!!

lol..
I did that & ended up with over 20K listings..
I'm still sifting through them to find the one for searchable file sharing.. every listing I've checked so far is a chat program/group/site, etc..

As far as your suggestion about the firewall, no need to explain that to me, I meant for the other board members benefit..
I'm pretty much protected from bullshit.. (so I hope..lol)

Railz , thanks for the link..
I was checking musiccity.com , didnt know they had another site..

lol...
That's too funny..

So, I really didnt go to google..ok.. lol

I was too buzy downloading direct connect & fucking with it to figure out whats going on...
I think I need more disk space now.. lol

Between downloading Morpheus, & Direct Connect & all the mp3's & videos , I mustve used up a good amount of space..
time for some compression ..

That direct connect is fucking confusing..
Too many hubs to choose from ..
It's easier to find mp3s with morpheus, but really slow...

My PC is ticking & clicking like a motherfucker...
will this burn out my motherboard? I hope not.

when it was a patent and absolute fucking lie? i don't need to be bulshitted to... tell the fucking truth.. i wouldn't have given a rat's ass if you hadn't searched for it.. you don't use the archives here - it wouldn't be a revelation - why would you go into detail about how you were doing something you obviously weren't? it would have been quicker to find the info than to make up a lie about it.. this business has a very heavy trust component my friend.. and along with your grandfather knowing hitler i think you're exhausting your quota here.. i do wish you the best, but you aren't going to get anywhere by not showing ANY initiative, and then lying about it when someone shows you what you're looking for - even if it was jeering in its intent...

no hard feelings but don't fuck the people here around when they are the same ones you're asking questions of.
i feel like an asshole being this straight with you, but it REALLY doesn't take much to be honest with people..
