The Matrix, when Neo was spraying the office from the helicopter with the mini-gun.. the camera angles and the stop motion filming were awesome.. watching the shells come straight down into the camera really showed how many rounds that gun was firing..

Harlem Nights

3 guys stand outside the store that Quick has ducked into, 2 of the guys unload on the store, when they stop the third guy fires his pistol into the store. The guys unload with the autos again, when they stop guy number 3 shoots 2 more shots into the store with his handgun. Funnier to see than to read about, but hilarious none the less.

[QUOTE=webair]guys HEAT with Al Pacino and and Val Kilmer!

The real life "North Hollywood, California Bank of America Robbery Shootout" with L.A.P.D. All 40 minutes of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The bad guys watch the movie Heat over and over and over. The even used the script lines from the movie to pull of their fucking robberies! Used the same duffle bags to carry the money as well.

Actually, I prefer the one where he and Trinity walk into the secured building to get Morphious. That one sticks out immediately. I remember when I watched the movie in the theatre, was lmost falling asleep to the movie, and that scene came up. Woke me up and got me interested again. It's one of my favorite movies now, but in the theatre, late at night, was nap time.

The music, and how it was editted together rawks.

Heat, after the botched bank heist. Greatest fucking shootout in the history of shootouts, I say. I was reading trivia about that scene, apparently more rounds were fired for that one scene than in any other movie

A close second is in Collateral, during the nightclub scene when cruise's character is taking on the entire world with nothing more than a pocket knife and a .45 USP. I believe he said it best after making his getaway, "the only thing that didn't show up was the Polish calvary"

In case you couldn't tell, I'm a big fan of Michael Mann's movies. Another movie with badass gunfights is John Woo's "Once a Thief". Holy shit, one of the greatest movies to come out of Hong Kong

the best I've seen didnt happen in a movie

firing a Mk19 grenade machinegun from the top of a hummer, laying down covering fire for a ranger extraction in Mogadishu.

Its funny that I have yet to see a movie with a Mk19 in it, its truly the most awesomely destructive machinegun I've ever fired in my life. Fuck bullets, rapidly firing grenades is the way to go.

Ah yes, completely forgot about the one in 'Heat'. Definately one kick ass scene, much like the movie as a whole. A little long, and some of the characters were a bit over the top (Pacino's home life). But Mann kicks ass.

Didn't care much for 'Collateral', but it wasn't the movie, or story. It was Cruise as an assasin. Just couldn't buy him in that roll. Overall, good movie though.

The most intense by far. When they were shooting their way out of the bank, through the streets and so on. Damn, that was a good 15 mins of hardcore gunfire. I watch that move again and again just for that.

I dunno about machine guns but I think the best shoot out was in the movie "way of the gun" at the end.
