Blue Cross works well for me. I'm fairly healthy though and have only used it once in the past 3 years.

DO NOT get insurance through a group such as the NASE (National Association of the Self Employed), it will SUCK ASS! And it will have hundreds of loop holes where they do not have to pay for shit. Also unlike most insurance companies it will come with some pretty lame rules, such as: You cannot be treated for a bone break or fracture in the first 6 months... Why? Because they are affraid you have, say, a broken foot and want to fix it via them... Get a real plan and you can break your back the next day and you are covered...
Also find someone who is willing to sell you very comprehensive coverage for about 250 to 380 a month... If they say it just isn't available anymore like that, tell em to get lost. They will probably want you to get lame shit 80% coverage for like $150 to $180 a month... Worthless... because that will also come with hundreds of loop holes. You get what you pay for! Shit, my GF has Kaiser. They charge her $265 a month and pay 100% of just about anything. Sure she has co-pays for perscriptions and doctor visits and shit but I had the NASE shit and had to pay a few hundred everytime I went to the doctor. She never has to pay over the co-payment. And people say Kaiser sucks... Fuck em... |
