I must have missed the place where it mentions restarting the file numbers when you turn the power off.

Sorry....My bad.

No worries,

It's all good. We're all here to share knowledge.

And sarcasm too, apparently.

That's a great way to have a fuck up and lose a lot of content.

Shoot one set then download it.

And who the hell shoots 400 pics per set anyway? Jebus man.

I agree, but sometimes you are on location and downloading isnt possible.

Oh,

Sorry, don't know you so I didn't know if you were being sarcastic or sincier.

I can see this is going no where, or gone no where quick, so I'll just mosey on along.

But it seems to me that if it's set to auto reset and the numbers change when you change compact flash cards, why wouldn't it reset to zero when you turn the power off?

Have a good one.

Because it's not designed to. It's designed to reset when the CF card is removed and replaced......If your battery dies or whatever while you are shooting then it would fuck up your file order if it had to start a new folder and renumbering.

Also.....The camera has an auto power off setting. If you are dealing with other business in the middle of a set and the camera powers down then resets the file numbering then you would have the same issue.

Why do people use 3rd party programs to download?

I don't get it.

As a general rule of thumb....When I buy hardware, the very first thing I do is throw away whatever shit programs / CD's they send with it.

Why should I install a 3rd party program to transfer files when ALL computers come with that ability already?
