Honestly though I get upset when all there is is content roaming the floor, it gets confusing and often you'll ask, :Mind posing for me real quick" and it'll turn out to be somebodies wife or G/f.

Lets face it, hot girls draw attention. Go to any auto show or check out the consumer electronics show. The booths with the hottest girls draw the crowd. Sad, but true

I suppose I could have phrased my response better. All I meant was, I don't understand why people wouldn't want to "enjoy the view" while they're doing business.

I realize the whole idea IS to do business and I'm not just going to look at boobies, but I just don't see how that part of it is a bad thing.

I've become jaded and desensitized by most things on the internet over the years and not much excites me anymore. I really do enjoy going to Internext though because its a change from what I do on a daily basis.

I would be more inclined to actually go to an internext convention if it was all business and no talent, models around. It should be all about business, of course I respect the talent and models, but it's a webmaster convention, it's better if it's only webmasters.

I never went because from what I see it's mainly strip club outings for the guys and a chance for them to actually feel some boobs and get to fuck some models. Or for them to take pics next to their fave pornstar. So very lame. I much prefer to stay home. There is nothing at all for me there.

Pimpdog - that statement just doesn't make much sense.........You are attending the most "sausage-fest show" but skipping the real biz shows like Phoenix & Cybernet? There ARE shows out there that focus on webmaster education & networking - with fewer of the distractions you seem to dislike, seems to me that if that is how you feel, you 'are missing the boat!

If you take away the eyecandy. You take away the part timers and hobby w/m's. I throw a guess out that 85% of online adult affiliates are part time or hobby w/m's. ( not that it's a bad thing) they probably make up 10-15% of the industry's total revenue. Why are they going to the show?? Free booze and they might get a picture taken with Teen Kelly and Arika Ames. They want to party, and again there is nothing wrong with that. But the tide has been shifiting for a few years now. People used to act as if this was something OWED to them. Now they are lucky if they get a bud light draft and a bikini contest. And that's the way it should be.



Shows are a battlefield of time. SET UP MEETINGS BEFORE YOU GO. otherwise you will be shaking hands with the owner of http://www.superstupidtgpwithnotraffic.com.bk and providing encouragement, when you would rather tell him to leave now and save the both of you the headache and hassle. Over the years if I have a nickel for every. " I know I am small but when I get my traffic up I'll send it to you, Thanks so much for your help" conversation I've been in personally or witnessed I'd have about 5 cents. Newbies don't listen, and they are not loyal. ( not that they have to be loyal)


Trey I think an Invite only , or application process could give you the show that we all need and deserve. It doesn't have to be 3days long and involve flying somewhere to swim with dolphins and play in seaweed.

I think we need to have more talent, and get rid of alot of webmasters:)

I got more biz done in Hollywood this year sitting in the lobby and getting deals done. I am going to Vegas this year and will do the show for a few hours a day then go gamble my ass off and tour the place with the wifey. The only party I will probably go to is the GFY opener if they are having it and Jungle Bash since PK is part of the sponsors.

Now that is good! :1orglaugh I love the URL man. But I remember not too long ago when I was first starting out. I was glad to meet some people at some of the webmaster parties in Florida. Folks like Chipmunk from SexMoney and others were nice and encouraging and did not just blow me off. We all started somewhere and I am grateful for the folks that did not just ignore me. I also agree with you that alot of people just go to the shows to get free shit and have the hope in meeting a hot model.

I have only gone to one show. It was in Vancouver 2 years ago Oct. Very little eye candy. Elli was about it.

Affiliates obviously do less business at the shows but it is good to see that this is a business and people are making money etc. Not sure how much talent are at other shows but I rarely see anything wrong with good looking women hanging around.

The talent is good for the the Affiliates and for me to fuck. Besides that I aggree that when it comes to making deals, there is no need for them to be around. I made some great contacts this year and Summer internext.

if putting a girl in skimpy clothing, and letting her walk around the convention floor, with a logo on her shirt works for business promotion, then people are going to do it.

I mean, lets face it.... people do some crazy things for promotions...
