    When does spam become spam?

I have an opt-in e-mailing list of people who joined my free site and gave me permission to e-mail them. The list software isn't amazingly sophisticated but it's double-opt in. There's an unsubscribe link in each mail I send out and all requests are processed instantly.

Of the 50,000 subscribers, only a handful (about 15) have complained, but SpamCop have been bugging my ISP (already not keen on hosting porn) to shut me down.

Does e-mailing a newsletter (albeit an adult one) to people who have requested in count as Spam?

Has anyone else had a similar problem?
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

It could have to do with how descriptive you were in what they would receive when entering their email address. Some of them probably didn't know they would be receiving newsletters if you just said they would reveive free porn in their email box. And it could depend on how often you send out the mailings.
And there are just some brain damaged fucks out there that probably forgot that they even gave you their email address.

If the email has anything at all to do with a monetary transaction or requires the joining of anything via filling out a form, basically a solicitation, then it is spam..

spamcop has no fucking clue what's going on...

I sent a complaint to the isp of a spammer.. this isp then fwd the complaint to spamcop who then contacted my isp to report that they have been accused of spamming..

the idiots didnt know how to read a fucking header.. lol

chrism, you better get another ISP.
Very hard for me to believe you got only
            15 complaint's out of 50,000 emails.

I use spamcop myself and spacedog you fucking
better believe they know what there doing, don't
            ever think they don't.

Once they get on you case you better change what
            ever your doing that's wrong...

chrism the reason your ISP is on your case is they could get Black holed and then there fucked.

Your ISP must have alot of other people that are spaming so they are going after everyone.
