What % does porn get?

Hey there folks,

In the world of e-commerce, where does the world of adult entertainment rank? Is it a 100 Million Biz? Is it in the 'billions"

If you know the stats or have a url, that would be cool!

As my searches for this type of info is not getting me anywhere!

Thanks,

Tek Art

in 2000 it did approximately $3 to $4 billion in revenue...

honestly I'm not sure if it's gone up or down since then. my initial hunch is down, since ad revenues are hurting so much. however there are about 3 times the number of webmasters out there promoting sites than there were back in 2000 ...

brettj is the master of statistics he'll probably see this thread soon and offer some better input.

nobody knows cuz nobody is telling... But I guarantee if my little sites are snaring what they are... and I've worked for a "small company" that booked 3 million a yr - - the internet figure is at least 3 billion.

(there is always a semantic argument to this...if I buy an apple from you for a dollar, and you bought the water, land, seed for 25 cents...is the industry worth a dollar or 1.25$) I would argue 1.25$...forcing you to consider the paysites, their affiliates, hosting companies, content companies, graphic design companies... et cetera. yeah, we're definately busting 3 billion a year, no problem.

Here's an article that references every recent major article or study.
