Hi ...

I wanted to let all the LA based webmasters know about a play (yes theater is alive and well in LA) that we're opening TONIGHT called XXX Love Act. It's written by Cintra Wilson (hugely popular pop culture writer for Salon.com) and covers the life of the Mitchell Brothers in San Francisco in the late 70's and 80's. For those of you that don't know ... The Mitchell Brothers were really the first to make a big budget porn movie - their first was called "Behind the Green Door" and starred Marilyn Chambers. They actually brought the movie to the Cannes Film Festival (needless to say it was not received well). They ran a huge XXX theater in San Francisco for years - and then (well not to give the story away) let's just say their story doesn't end that happy.

But the play in insanely funny and crazy ... and I think all adult webmasters in this business could relate to these two guys in many ways... Plus there are three HOT females playing porn stars.

So come out and get some CULTURE at da Theater... Here's all the details ...

The show went well - not too big of an audience but for opening night- we really don't want one while we're still working out kinks. I'm understudying and my performances are coming up in later weeks.

We're hoping to get an article or review in AVN and maybe Xbiz ... to get some adult webmasters out there.

Hey Alan ... Yeah I know for sure I'm up the last week of August - I'll be playing Frisky August 24th - 27th ... I'll post again closer to the time. Would be cool to have some webmasters in the audience ... tonight we had 4 buddhist monks among others - that was weird.

I never saw Rated X ... with Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen right? I heard it wasn't that great ... the play is based on their real life though ... but it's theater so is a whole different experience than watching a movie.

I agree, we should support our own no matter what.

I also find it interesting that the theatre world is starting to find stories in the Adult world.

A few of my friends just did "Debbie Does Dallas" The Musical!

And as for it being a movie first, there are many plays that have been made into movies, but end up losing a little of what made the play so amazing. Like "Oleanna" or "A Few Good Men". Don't get me wrong A Few good Men is a great movie, but trust me! You get a good cast and stage that sucker.. Its AWESOME!
