The Island (the movie), no spoiler in here
jesus christ, the special effects and concepts in this movie were SICK....the story is obviously stolen somewhat from logans run, but we already saw that happening with the trailers
but shit...i say this wins best special effects for the year, if not ever.... i like special effects that aren't able to be known that they are special effects...and this movie had SO MUCH cgi in it, but 80% of the time you were not able to tell it was CGI, which made it that much better kickass movie for sure |

they shot some in my home town of detroit. lots of demolition scenes. I thought the movie was great. special effects were cool. loved the whole hologram thing. I also need to get one of those sweet hand controlled screens. places have them in delevelopemnt. damn cool.
the story reminded me of a book I read whe i was a kid, called The Giver. Two thumbs up from me  |
