The Island........Just Saw It....Quick Review......No Spoilers

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked "The Island"........its a hidden summer movie gem........lots of action but a real good story is behind it.....actually the storyline is fascinating and pulled off really well. The acting was very good and Scarlett Johannson is very, very easy on the eyes. I went in hoping for merely a good movie and came out very entertained and liking this movie a lot, and I'll probably go to it again in a month's time or so.

it was very innovative...........excellent touches on their view of the future world.........unlike say, I Robot which was far, far too advanced for being the near future.

i am really quite surprised the show was that good. you can't help be entertained. now if only there was a director's cut on the dvd with Scarlett Johansson naked............

You guys must be joking....

It was a typical Hollywood movie : Bad

I agree, the start was good, very innovative, but right in the middle of the movie, we all know how it's going to finish.

No surprise. Car stunts, nice visual effects to let you forget how the story is bad

Bad movie. Like most typical american movies.

the trailer looks really good, was it theatre worthy or better as a rental?

he's good in it. hell he's good in everything, except Moulin Rouge (yeah i know he can sing but i hated the hell out of that movie); he was even good in the Star Wars series despite some of the silly lines and wooden dialogue he was given

she's very good in it, but she always is. not just a pretty face. she's got serious acting chops as she had a great 2003 acting year:

Girl with a Pearl Earring (2003) .... as Griet
Lost in Translation (2003) .... as Charlotte

she was nominated for BOTH at the Golden Globes and won for Lost in Translation, but the academy snubbed her and she wasn't even nominated for an Oscar for either. but Scarlett's time will come for that too.

I am more interested on the story itself; though I must admit I reallylike Johanssen.
