Anyone know how to get ink out of carpet?

Was writing some stuff down and my pen was running out of ink so I shook it up a little bit and the bottom came off and ink went everywhere. Got it all off my PC and equipment but it's on my carpet and not sure how to get it out w/o smearing it everywhere.

What kind of carpet is it? And can you post a pic (seriously)?

My family owns several carpet cleaning plants in the Midwest.

Hairspray dissolves ink. Not sure if it will work on a large carpet stain though. I have used in on the kids shirts, but they can be sprayed and then rinsed. Good luck.

Taken with my Camera phone so it's yellowish and not too clear. My digital camera was KIA. This is just a small portion of it.

Can you tell me how far it is from top to bottom or side to side in that pic? I am trying to get an idea of scale (yes, it may matter).

How to Clean Ink From Carpet
Spilled ink doesn't necessarily mean curtains for your carpet. Watch stains disappear with this simple solution.

Steps:
1. Saturate the ink stain with hair spray.

2. Allow the stain to fully dry.

3. Mix a solution of one part water to one part white vinegar.

4. Pour the solution on the stain.

5. Brush the area lightly with a medium-bristle brush, preferably a toothbrush.

6. Continue brushing until the stain is gone.

7. Blot the area with a dry, white cloth.

8. Flood the area with water.

9. Blot again.

10. Allow to dry.

Tips:
Always test the cleaning solutions on an inconspicuous part of the carpet before using on a large area.

Brush from the outer edges of the stain inward to prevent the stain from spreading.

Use a white cloth rather than a colored one to prevent any dyes from coming off on the carpet.

Tips from eHow Users:
Clean freshly spilled ink from carpet by Donna C.
To clean freshly spilled ink from your carpet, immediately drench the affected area with milk. Milk neutralizes the ink so that it won't bleed into the carpet. Use a damp white cloth or sponge to clean up the fluids. If needed, you may use a bristle brush. Let everything dry then clean the area with a carpet cleaning solution.

Yup, if it's that small of an area, alcohol based hair spray may be the best bet. Also nail polish remover on a cutip may help. Whataver you do don't rub, lift up and out where possible. Don't let the stain areas get to wet, it will only bleed the ink out more.

Once you have done all you can with the HS or NPL, let it dry completely and take some cuticle scissors and kind of nip at it a bit to cut out any remaining stained threads.

Then you can take a carpet bruch and brush the nap back and forth to even it all out again. If you cannot find a carpet brush a good stiff dog hair brush will work as well.
