Any recommendations: Cuban food, Miami.
Not a total dive. A sit down experience. Cuban waiters, cooks and an owner that looks like Scarface is a bonus.

Only thing is, do you think Miami is annoyingly far? Is it the best place to have Cuban food? I had thought of doing one of those seafood places with buckets in Ft. Lauderdale?

COry, if you want buckets of beer for 5 bucks there's the alehouse in ft. lauderdale.
Miami is 45 min from the diplomat you'll hate the 1-30 min drive back and fourth. If you'll be in miami you gotta tell us what part, Larios in south miami is as old school as you can get, awesome music and daning it'll be like" la bamba." or you can go to " casa Pansa " on south beach if it's still there, it was a year or 2 ago, it's got musical instruments on the walls and you pull them down and play with the band, cool shit. But the prices are high on food, 2o bucks each which is a lot for a cuban restaurant, and they serve tapas with are spanish not cuban but whatever. If you're drunk and you prefer real food and not Denny's ... La Caretta is the place to go, bird rd has a decent one, calle ocho has teh best, both open late as shit. |
