Do I believe in santa claus eh, well yes since I have seen him every year at the mall. Now do I believe in the myth surrounding him no. Did he actually exist at some point, I think so. Did that person also live up to the myth, No I do not think so.

Hahaha your posts are so funny :)

I think at it the same way..........................

BUT what is so terrible about getting scammed your hole life, fact is you have no idea if you are getting scammed.....

The obvious is not always right answer.

Try to explain Eternety to me please
Try to explain how it was here before nothing was here and how it was before then and how it started and what was before that.
God damnmit we are small indifferent things in a universe never created, We will never learn to explain that and as long as we can't cope with a simple thing as that I don't think you should rule out anything!

Actually no. Hinduism DOES speak to the cyclic nature of the universe, and interestingly, most of it's tenents, involving the origins of the universe, conservation of energy, and astrophysics, closely mirror the latest scientific research.

You may be confused by what little you know that refers to re-incarnation, however it's interesting to me that there is research on electric eels, that isn't even recent, that shows that memory is stored in part as an energy field that can survive death of the individual and be transfered to another individual.

In any case.... may I ask if you have fixed ALL of your opinions on every subject? Or do you have any ability to progress in your life.

Prehaps you know that you have the final answers on all subjects? If that is the case, I would love to hear everything you have to say, you must be the most remarkable mind in the history of the planet! :)

First of all I dont think anyone said anything about Not enjoying life to the fullest. Secondly expanding your knowledge base on almost any subject is bound to enrich your life; your point here makes no sense. If you are going to feel sorry for someone I'd look in the mirror, your declaring fact about something that CAN NOT be proved Screams ignorance

BULLSHIT. show me this.

okay so hindus do believe that what you do in this life affects a next life? a cyclical nature? you mean many lives, just say it. if you are so sure, it seems you wouldnt feel the need to dodge simple questions about your religion.

hindus believe there is more than one life. why won't you just say that?

Read "Life on Earth" Edited by Richard Attenborough. I was a Zoology major in College...... have you even been to one?

You weren't asking simple questions....they aren't that simple. As for Karma afecting your life and future. Yes. Hinduism does recognise it.

Why won't you tell me who is leading me and telling me what to do? If you knew anything about what you are talking about , ie Wicca and Hinduism, you would realize that you are making an idiot of yourself here.

It seems that you
1. Are ranting about a subject of which you know very little, (except maybe a little about christianity, which doesn't have anything to do with me).
2. Are someone that will have no growth in their life and feels that they know everything from where they stand.

Good luck to you.... I have a feeling you'll need it!

ohhh wow ..so impressive.. you were a zoology major in college..

dont talk to me about growth and understanding, your statements are full of arrogance and pitiable selfaggrandizement. im afraid all your searching has failed to teach you even the simplest of playground maxims; no one likes a pompous ass.

you know i absolutely agreed with you. Someone as shallow as southerngirl cannot for a second comment on topics of this nature. there are much "simpler" things that cannot be explained from our point of view, for example in math, or in physics. saying that there is no god for sure is laughable :thumbsup

hahaha I like that little thought :)

She has such a hard time digging a hole fore all the good things in religion and dump them there.

Why do you pitty the people believing in God and why is it important for you to break them?

Is it unfair they have a better life than you pretty girl?

Funny arguing against this just because your stupid, I don't believe in God at all but you are telling me what is right and more important what isn't when you don't know crap about it.

I like these threads, because I run Jesus' confession website (see sig, fuckers!...it's free).

Now my $.02 sad cents.

1. Religion is man made. If it wasn't, there'd be only one.

2. Ever hear the phrase "don't discuss politics and religion" ? There's a reason for that. They both stem around "belief". Something which, once instilled, is very, very difficult to influence, especially when confronted with a really, really good argument. Kind of like magnetism, one of the strongest forces known to man. Take two people who each "believe" they're right, bring them together and they'll always repel.

3. Oppression has nothing to do with religion. Oppression is an effect caused by a force (words, chains, guns, terror, etc). Religion is just words.

4. Religion is neither good nor bad. Again, it's just words. Individuals ingesting and forming their own beliefs out of those words are good / bad.

Thanks.
Have a nice day :)

Linkster 07-19-2005 06:05 PM

psili - Although I partially agree, I think that opressions had numerous causes and some of them are very firmly based on religion - understand I define religion as belief per the OED definition. A set of beliefs can be the foundation of oppression as has been evidenced by numerous "holocausts" over the years - but lets just stay with recent events - say from 500-150 years ago when the settlers of the US mainland decided that their beliefs (religion) were causing them to need more land - and murdered millions of the original natives of the US (American Indians) who had a different set of beliefs.

For people not familiar as to why I would present that as a holocaust - you might wanna check the amount of Indians that were slaughtered - to give you an idea - from an estimated 12 million in 1500 on the US mainland to barely 237,000 in 1900 - This is twice the number of Jews killed by the Nazis in WWII - but then I guess we had a good reason - we needed the land for our Gods churches and the Indians God wasnt recognized by the US government until the 1960s after many demonstrations and closings of highways by "left wing radical Indians"

Nope, not possible. Some fanatics (more like most) take religion to an entirely different level - they have read so far into something, which is nothing or simply not there. Wake the fuck up and believe in yourself, not some knob you cannot even see!

Take same sex (homosexual, gay & lesbian) marriage: who fucking cares, not I. The so-called institution is so beyond dead and is obsolete. (Only traditionalist, that refuse to evolve or move forward, have a fingernail hold and are grasping on till the end.)

Most of the so-called Good Word preachers say same sex marriage will ruin the word/term/definition/institute, but in my eyes, it has already been soiled by divorce. Those that get divorced or do not live up to the words spoken during the ceremony are the people to blame.

... and again, I say to you fanatics: Wake the fuck up and believe in yourself, not some knob (or douche bag) you cannot even see!
