hahaha good one :) well again why has it been since Jfk and 1960 since someone from Congress was elected :))))))) Shit, even John Edwards has a chance. 1 term senator, rich, good looking, from the south, and smart as a whip. If his wife gets healthy and better, I know he would want to run... |
Condi Rice could never hold up to the pressure/scrutiny of a presidential campaign. Period.
|
No way a WOMAN and who is BLACK will ever win.. This country is too closed minded for that.. so no it aint happening...

That is, just putting out the same solutions for social problems that have been put out for 30 years, and then just being critical of the Republicans on Foreign policy without offering a new alternative plan. :2 cents: |

I can't agree with you there. Not that the notion woudn't work, but I couldn't and most dems couldn't support that... A religious person np, but wearing it on there shirts, hmmmmmm. |

I guess the biggest problem I see reading through posts here and other places is the same labelling that goes on in the press - which whether anyone agrees or not doesnt really matter to me - but I believe that the press has been so supressed and molded, and of course they have handed that down to the public through the "the media is the message" mentality.
If you go search for James Carville, whom I happen to agree is a good go-getter, he is labelled as "the voice from the left". I guess being over 50 years old I remember the real left and right wingers - and I can tell you that it has gotten so damn politically correct in the media that someone like Carville, who really is middle of the road, is not the extreme left. I hold an opinion that most of this is due to US citizens apathetic behavior for the last 20 years exemplified by their sheeplike following of whatever the press throws at them. 35 years ago we were screaming at the top of our lungs to get rid of a president for real illegal acts - and nowadays the press fixates on whether a president gets a blowjob? Hell theres been presidents in history who had live-in mistresses in the White House that didnt get but a small one day scoop in the newspapers. Unfortunately, until the general public figures out exactly how the government is spinning the press or starts caring about who actually sits in the White House and shows it by voting (which unfortunately most of the loudest protesters these days - DONT) the things that really matter will never get fixed. Of course maybe I just have a different view of what really matters :) I was appalled at the turnout for the aid to Africa concerts - and the support we gave to that as Americans - when we have the exact same problem at home and dont do a damn thing to fix it - we have people dying in our own country of starvation every day - they live in poverty just like the Africans (Im not saying we shouldnt help who we can - just that we might want to fix our own problems first???) and can't get access to medical care for normal immunizations - even right in that great state of Tn SouthernGirl is in. Sorry - rant off for a while :) |

That is a given, but it will be a cold day in hell before that happens in 2008 |

Then which Bush will run? I suppose George Sr. could, but he's getting pretty old already. You're kidding yourself if you think the republicans are going to run a ticket without a Bush on it. The last time they did that was what, Ford? It's not a coincidence. |
There will be NO Bush on the republican ticket for 2008. trust me.
Even repubs in private have said 8 yrs is enough for now, and having Jeb or another bush in 08 would hurt the party / ticket.. Paybacks for GW, etc. |

He should start by being mayor of Philly..he would win. |
And as much as I hate it Rice would be a good canidate. I am fairly sure my father has a crush on her and he is an ultra Republican. Don't underestimate the power of totty for the thinking man - even if I disagree with what they think.
