Real Estate Stocks

So I have been sittin around saying I want to buy some more real estate but I think we are at or near the peak of the market. And I dont want to get stuck with an overpriced building that might become difficult to unload. One of the big problems with real estate investing is Liquidity. The ability to sell fast. Right now in a hot market its quite easy to unload a property but in a slow market it is not uncommon for it to take 6 months to a year to sell a house. So I got to thinking more about Real estate investment trust which pay fat dividends and have been rocking right along witht he houseing market. You can buy it on margin so you can get some leverage similar to a home loan and current rates for me are about 5% similar ot a fixed mortgage price.

So I have decided even though it is quite late in the game to start picking up

IYR the iShares Dow Jones US Real Estate ETF

I have also been loading up on

XLU Utilities ETF

it is having a very nice run adn pays a nice 3% dividend while I wait.

Other things am watching are

EENC OVEN TWX and waiting to get back in to my old long and steady winner.

And if MIX gets back to 7 bucks i will prolly load up again

I am with you on this. Or if the SP500 takes out that 4 year high we could see buyers.

tell me about it. i always have that chart as well as the qqqq chart up to give me a general idea of the market conditions. I have a feeling that the summer will be another slow one, just as they always seem to be. I'm waiting for one oil stock im in right now to anounce some news, then once it runs up a bit I'm pulling out of it.

Who do you use to do your trades? I use cybertrader.com and i use esignal for my data feeds. I love esignal, that's the product that really helped me with regards to following the charts and trends out there. I used to do day trading but just don't have the time for it anymore, now I take a longer position in the stocks i trade.

Thanks again for the MIX tip.

I bought at $6.29 and just sold yesterday at $8.25

Made a nice profit, had fun doing it.

I'll wait for it to go down to $7 like you are and I'll buy again.

Always looking for good stock tips these days.

We took out that 4 year high and now not exactly ripping. I miss the good old days. The Vix just made a huge multi year low. I am sending in cash but hard to load up more after a signal like that.

Hey Lars. Would you like to buy some property that will not be hammered so much by that market bubble??

If so hit me on ICQ. I dont make a dime out of this, I just have some info to pass along.

If you buy, then you can take me and the wife to dinner as a thanks.

The property that I am talking about is empty, and is going for about 35 to 75 k. Small lots, but about 4 blocks from the ocean, and with a view.

I've been playing with penny stocks lately. Those $50 stocks just dont do it for me, not exciting enough. I like to gamble. Its just hard finding a reputable penny stock.

My first week, i watched a stock go from .03 to .38, but i only had about $5000 in. I sold early on a dip at .17 so I only made 20 or so grand. I also made bank on another great penny pick. I was excited thinking this was way too easy.

My next three picks, i threw 20 grand into each without much research. They were all losers. So im down pretty big. When penny stocks, drop they drop fast! Make sure to do alot of research and don't believe everything you read on message boards.

My penny stock pick for the month is:
MSSI - (current price .04) they just aquired a mulimillion dollar healthcare staffing agency and received new financing. This stock is currently undervalued. I hope to see this double within a month or two. And if the future revenue reports are as big as people expect this will hit atleast 25 cents within a year or so. Anyways dont go buying my pick, you'll most likely lose alot of money, but i just want to be able to repost this thread in a few months stating im rich bitch!!!

I read an article recently that said most of the executives in major house building companies with stock options have begun to sell off their holdings expecting a downturn in the near future.

I've been following the west coast commercial real estate fairly closely and I was lucky enough to get in on the ground-floor of a REIT. The next couple of months will be decisive, but I expect REITs in general to start getting a lot more publicity.
