I have met girls in almost every country I have visited and often stayed at their houses. Nothing better than a tall hot blonde Dutch girl cooking for you after you fucked her on her own couch. :)

Very well said. Some people do NOT know how to travel at all. Their idea of travel is to stay in some expensive hotel and expect their tour guide to do everything for them.

Backpacking is a lot of fun. And it's cheap! If you do it right you can spend very little. And there are many people both guys and girls who welcome you there like this. My first night in Ireland my drinks were all paid for by this bloke who wanted to have a conversation about America with me. (No, he wans't gay.)

ps: I made a topic "Work And Travel" before I realized this topic existed, if anyone would care to read it it would be appreciated.

If my travelling to other parts of the world, I want to be with someone special or someone I could comfortable with...

I've done it plenty of times. I usually meet up with people i had planned to previously, or meet new people. It's fun.

i have mixed feelings about it....

going on holiday should be with friends or a girl ;)

travelling alone may have some advantages but if you travel alone all the time, you're a loser

It can get lonely, so no.

Travelling alone rules. Done over a year of it and plan on doing much, much more.

exactly.

The problem though is that most european and asian youth hostels are overpopulated with americans. Americans are open and friendly, but after the first 15 minutes shallowness becomes very apparent in most cases. Don't they get tired of asking the same questions and talking the same talk with the same arrogance again and again?

I will prefer a hostel over a hotel in most cases, but sometimes all those americans make me tired.
