Saw "Charlie and the Choclate factory" last night

It was OK with good graphics (I expected to be better with all the great reviews), but you have to go with a child's view point. If you take your kids, they will love it, I did.
I will see "The Wedding Crashers" next.

did they have the oompa loompas in it?

those midget green dudes with the strange hair that sang that song: "oompa doompa doompity doo - i've got another puzzle for you!"

they were the best part of the original movie. without the remake will be severely lacking

Yeah, they were in this one as well, though of course they looked quite different.

I really liked this movie, Johnny Depp was absolutely hysterical.

I liked the movie a lot!

The Umpa Loompa's have a new song now. It goes, "Umpa Loompa umpity doo...I've got another Iraqi Umpa for you!".

There was only one Umpa and they CGI'd the rest of them. I laughed my ass off at them though (their dances were updated and histerical!). Definetely go check it out.

Movies.com gave it great reviews, but I said it was OK. Wedding Crashers had a bad review on Movies.com, also.

way too much cgi as is usual in most big buget movies these days. most of the factory was probably fake, the umpa loompas were fake. instead of the cheesy songs they used to sing they were all these big fake production numbers. i liked the movie but still prefer the old one.

The songs that they sang were the actual lyrics from the songs that the Oompa Loompas sang in the book.

I got the soundtrack and it says Words and Lyrics by Roald Dahl, Music By Danny Elfman.

They're not complete word for word, but the lyrics come from the book.

I really enjoyed the movie myself, but my reviews never matter because I enjoy all movies (believe it or not, I don't go to shows to analyze).

I saw it on an IMAX screen

it was weird how wonka's dad was count dooku.

and... depp is a great actor, but did anyone else think his character influence was michael jackson?

the movie was good, more true to the book... in parts.
there were a lot of extra scenes that weren't in the book at all.

as gene wilder said, the only reason to redo this movie is $$$$$

I saw it today with my daughter - she liked it, I think it sucked.

Willy Wonka looked like he's been hitting the mushrooms a little bit too much since they made the last movie.

I was watching some making of Willa Wonka on TV the other day. Most of that stuff isn't CGI, including the squirrels. They trained those fuckers to do manual labor.

Probably not as much cgi as you think.

I think it'll be hard for it to be better then the classic movie. I know the first one didn't have the excellent graphics etc.. But it was still a great little flick.

I saw both. I was a bit disappointed w/ Charlie because I thought Depp could have been a better Wonka and thought Burton could have done more w/ the movie.
