Question To AVN In Regards To Exhibition Times

I heard that our new exhibiting times will be from 11-3 instead of previous show times being 9/10-5.

So basically we are losing face time infront of our customers since the show times will be shortened drastically... If we're only exhibiting for 12 hours (versus 24 hours at previous shows) why the heck are we paying the same price? In actuallity we're paying more because AVN now automatically includes the internet access into every booth.

I honestly don't think we will exhibit again after this year in Miami, it's just getting to be so much of a cash grab... Stick a fork in me, I'm done!

I don't have anything against AVN however I just don't see the value in exhibiting anymore and I think the $300 per pass rule is the silliest thing I have ever heard. There are other ways to generate more revenue than doing the things they are doing... They are driving business away not towards them...

Funny when I brought this to peoples attention in the past
I was accused of attacking Aly and having a personal grudge against AVN

It's getting clearer by the day that once again I am right-
But no one will agree with me until a big dog comes out and posts.
ie. Drinking Hard, Sweet T, Ron Cadwell, and Roger V

It's ok- In the end, I know I am always right and that is what matters most

no shit dude, remember that thread a few weeks back, no one jumped on board and we were made to look like the bad guys for even suggesting it....oh, but now that major players jumped on board, i guess it really is a bad thing now? does anyone think for themselves anymore?

I have made millions at my booths at the old AVN shows. Too bad the show floors are dying, adn AVN had decided to kill the show floors by spreading people out around the property without a central meeting place.

We passed on a booth.

I originally thought of that too, but how much dead time is there when the doors first open, and the last hour of the day? A LOT.

Now, with only 4 hours per day, I'm guessing the floor is gonna be packed from nearly start to finish.

edit-shit, some booths don't even have anyone there for the last hour because it's so slow.

these shows are a time to bond you close the deal when you get home over the phone or ICQ

For those selling content etc. yes but its a time to network and meet the people you do biz with or would like to in the future. sometimes a booth will impress them sometimes a good fuck will.. whatever works

Hehe well thanks for putting me in the leagues of those fine gentlemen, I am humbled

I think Aly is one of the loveliest and smartest ladies in the business today, I think she is fantastic. I just don't agree with some of the decisions AVN has made on this show... If a whole bunch of my advertisers were all coming to me and complaining about issues that were bothering them, I would'nt sit on my hands about it. I would get busy and see what I can get resolved immediately. My advertisers are my bread and butter and if they are not happy I have a big fricking problem.

11-3 is awful steep. All joking aside, the people with the most purchasing power travel in a different league. They will not be out of bed before noon on ANYDAY of this event. They will be having lunch at around 1:30 when they leave their lunch meeting at 2:30 with intentions of " hitting the floor" they will be stopped by everyone who recognizes a pic of them from GFY to say " hello" and "we'll have to do biz sometimes" They arrive at the show floor at 3:05 and it's over until tomorrow .

rinse repeat.

Any person attending this event with a check book in the black from money earned in this business has.

They are killing the Sponsor's who paid a nice sum of money to show off their products.

While I am sure the next whale will be somewhere in the pool of fish. I wouldn't want to pay to fish there.

I always get a booth and they are always good to me... you need to stay in 1 place and eventually you get to see everyone. If you always have somebody in your booth you can do good business

of course you need something that people want to buy;-)

WA Montreal was great for me and not once did i ever feel like i was getting fucked in the ass...Well other than when i was in the elevator with Juicy and then a few hours later Ramos...But I at least liked that.

300/12 = 25.

we are going to pay 25 bucks an hour to get to the show. and thats if you walk in at open and leave at close. heaven forbid you sleep late 1 day. cost you 25 bucks worth of show time. better bring a lunch with you. hate to miss that hour.
