I had all 4 of mine removed, they were coming in at an angle and going into my molars. I hadn't started hurting yet, but if I didn't get them removed, it was just a matter of time.
The procedure was simple and painless, I didn't bother getting knocked out, though if you go to an oral surgeon, they can do that for you. They give you painkillers and then you spend a few days with a swollen mouth, but all in all the experience isn't as bad as most people make it out to be.

check google for a list of problems people have experienced as adirect result ofhaving their wisdom teeth pulled.
cronic back pain, clicking jaw, broken jaw bones, excessive pain in the mouth for years on end and even DEATH .. yes, IT CAN KILL YOU! It is different for everyone, you are best to talk to your family and see who had problems and if they ever had theirs out etc.. |

Just get them pulled! I got them pulled all at once, I was so scared because I never had surgery before and also never an IV. For me the IV kind of hurt, I really hate needles. Plus the worst part was bleeding, I don't think I have ever bled so much from a cut, it was really gross. Plus my jaw was sore for almost a month, I could not open my mouth really wide for almost 3 week afterwards, I had to use a heating pad to try and relax my jaw. Plus I never had stitches so that freaked me out too.
But I got put to sleep during the operation so I don't remmeber anything! Just pay extra and get put to sleep (conscious sedation). It's really the only way to go! Also I had no pain afterwards really. I was phobic about pain and kept taking the Vicoding and it made me sick because I was taking it on an empty stomach. Other than that, the pain was jus "soreness" but I can't say it was real pain, and I am a wimp. When I get stomach cramps, it hurts much more than the pain from getting the teeth out! And yea, of course you can die but it's NOT very likely, the chances are really small, mostly people have problems (when they do) with the anaesthesia but it's very rare, plus it's mild anaesthesia they use, NOT general anaesthesia so if u are helahty u should hae no problems! |

Also, i went to an oral surgeon, not a dentist. Also look in google for "dry socket". I was scared of getting this, but thank God I didn't. Supposedly the pain is real bad, even worse than childbirth!
![]() Even with insurance my minor surgery cost over 1k, that's expensive I think, for it only took the surgeon 10 min to do my operation. But I also developed a "bone cyst" from leaving one impacted tooth in there too long, so they charged extra to have that taken out and have it sent to a lab to be checked for cancer (standard procedure). |

Get them out if they are a problem or are likely to become a problem based on examination by a trustworthy dentist(s). Don't get them out because some "cosmetic dentist" says so or if you just think it's a good part of your overall dental care. If mine hadn't cracked I certainly wouldn't have gone through what I have the past 2 months (in the middle of the worst time of year for healing) ![]()

Wisdom teeph are for nothing other than creation of problems, it is WISE to have them removed...
Since they are impacted I suggest getting put to sleep and have them all yanked at the same time but dont take my word for it get your endodontists (S) advice I also suggest you go to a well respected state of the art professional top dollar endodontist... Alot of dentists are strugging worse then a tgp submitter on crack, and just pull teeth for the money. Endodontists are specially trained in root canal and nerve and diseases of these areas and know more than your regular schlep dentist... so they can offer better opinion Find an experienced one that has state of the art computer that does digital dentistry, these are dentists that continually go back to school for training and have the tools to make the job as easy as brushing your teeth. Just had one of mine pulled with this wierd pliars that i didnt even need novacaine for. was over in half a second, and the dentist smiles to me and says.. "I have an awesome set of tools" which was halirious because he was referring to the Fast Times at Ridgemont Times movie. Usually you can go to a oral surgeon place, that only does surgery to get a examination $40 and a recommendation of what to do... You can more trust this evaluation because they won't do the work. Unless of course you choose being put to sleep. These places usually dont need the money and tell you like it is |

oh yeah heres a good tip to determine bad dentist from good one..
Xray machine.... if the machine dont rotate around your head get out of there. Spit trays, if they are still using spit trays get out of there The days of bleeding and spitting are long gone. |

I had all of mine pulled at once several years ago. Two were impacted at the time and the pain was immense.
I woke up before the procedure was over, while they were drilling into a particularly difficult tooth, in order to wedge it out. I don't regret doing it, but make sure they give you enough anesthetic. Good luck! ![]() |
