What do you think about the band COLDPLAY?

I never ever liked them, thinking how a bunch of sissys they were. But, they are actually a great band - not just the music, they also give so much back to charity.

Ever woundered how the lead singer has like a "=" sign on his hands? I thought this was one of there gay symbols or something. Its actually represents equel trade in countries.

He has the "=" on his shirt here. But if you look closely when he plays music you can see on his hands.

I would consider them overrated if their singles were the only good material they have, but damn near everything on their albums is just great music. Personally speaking of course

Bands that blather on about political messages tend to annoy me. I don't know why. I guess they are using their position in life to try to better the world, which is more than I have done. But for some reason I still want to bitchslap Bono. Shutup about politics and write some good tunes for a change.

I hope they die in a fucking flood.

What a bunch of pussies. What kind of a rockstar "gives to charity" or bitches about "equal trade"?

This sissy makes Bono look like Slash.

Whats wrong with giving to charity dude? They can make a significant change, they are huge all over the world, not just the US and UK. Would you rather have them talk about them having mills, fucking all the hoes, taking drugs ext ext..

Charity in and of itself is fine. These idiots like Coldsore and Bono do it so they can feel important and shout "look at me".

Yes, I would rather have my rockstars spend it on dope and pussy.

I am not a fan of Coldplay, but I'm not a fan of U2 much either, in regards to talent, and they sound a lot alike in my opinion...

They both do great charity work, though...

To you maybe, not everyone has to agree with you're opnion.

The fact that i made this thread proves that impact coldplay has on fair trade.

Exactly. It is just my opinion.

The title of the thread was "What do you think about the band COLDPLAY?"

If the title was "COLDPLAY is the best!" or "COLDPLAY is great!" I wouldn't have even opened it.

Hmm, I clicked thinking ColdCut (Ninja Tunes), but since I'm here:

Coldplay, not too much.
Most people I know that listen to Top40 'stuff' like, but I'd rather listen to Buck65 (a much better white-rapper who is actually off the beaten track - not gangsta stylie. He incorporates various genres, such as 70's rock, various folk and yadda-yadda. He did a few singles with Jurrasic5 - not my cup of tea, but cool lyrics. Oh yah, he's a Crazy Canuck).

They are shit, they are part of the joke that is modern mainstream music.

What's even more of a joke is the modern million dollar recording studio. The best mics and equipment in the world don't mean a god damn thing if you compress the fuck out of the music to make it "radio friendly." Someone down the line had this bright idea one day that ripping the fucking soul and dynamics out of modern music seemed to be a good idea. All these douchebag million dollar studios and mastering guys do it, trust me. I'm a recording dork though, anyone who wishes to argue, please by all means, argue.

It's decent.. their new album is also decent.
Not in my top 10 favorite bands, but I don't change the channel if they're on radio when I drive (and I do have all of their albums).

They are a good "filler" to a music collection. I couldn't see them as a top played track in my iPod but they are good if you need music to fall asleep to at night. I don't see that they'll have lasting power, then again, I said that after "Parachutes". They are contrived and generic but they do teeter on the edge of innovation without actually being innovative.
