:stoned A Few Pics Of My New Home Theatre

I was taking some pics for insurance reasons and I thought what the hell I would share some with you guys.

Just before I got married I got all this stuff installed, it's fucking incredible for a small room setup. In the fall we're planning on finishing our basement and putting in a huge home theatre room with staged seating and all the toys. This system is on the mainfloor and I usually watch it when I am working on my laptop on the lazyboy.

The system includes:
Samsung 42" HD Plasma
Yamaha Multichannel Amp
Rogers High Definition PVR (AKA TIVO)
Monitor Audio Radius Center Channel and Tower R225's
Monitor Audio 8" Subwoofer R360
Monitor Audio 390 Rears (I actually have 2 other sets of these in my Dining Room and other living room with volume control installed in the other rooms)

Pool Area
Paradigm Stylus 350 Outdoor Speakers (mounted above my outside eating area and hot tub)
Outdoor Rock Speakers (fuck I can't remember the brand offhand but they sound fantastic, they are mounted around my pool)

Now that you have seen my stuff, lets see yours

I'll take a pic of my TV this week after I get it setup. Audio is the next big project. :-)

I think they have come along way since when they first came out. I heard these new ones last alot longer... Honestly doesn't matter much to me as I get new TV's every 2-3 years anyways

Not really anymore. Plasma should be fine, but like DH said, odds are after 5 years you would probably want a new TV anyway. My current one has lasted 2, great TV, just time to upgrade. :-)

Yeah the installers were here for 3 days installing it all throughout the house, with volume controls in the other rooms. Plus the installation outside in the pool area was pretty complex, I'm glad it was them installing it not me LOL! I would have burnt down the house ;)

the problem with plasmas is 4 out of ten made go bad in production.. that's the main reson they are so expensive... within the nest year, the organic stuff is gonna come out and kill the plasma market... paper thin, can be cut into any shape you want, you can print on it...etc...... cant wait for it

LOL!!! Well I guilted her into it... The amount I spent on the weddding dwarfed the cost of the home theatre. She got what she wanted and I got what I wanted ;)

With your outdoor speakers, are they just connected to your main system so if you watch a dvd or something do they go outside? I assume they wouldnt?

Yeah the rock speakers are incredible, they sold out very quickly at my electronic dealer's store, everyone wants a pair

The outdoor speakers are hooked up through the Yamaha amp and you can access any source (cd, dvd, cable etc...)

The cool thing is that someone could be listening to the home theatre inside with a dvd and the people out in the pool can be cranking the tunes from the cd player. Plus outside has it's own volume control so you don't have to come back in the house to turn it up/down.
