Its not our hardware, however there running in raid mirrored mode...
So its not so risky.

I would prefer SCSI raid or an external fibre channel array.... however
when you are as big as epiccash, and have so many servers, this is just one
of a cluster.

So often when i visit a customer the first time, they are shocked when they find out the stats of IDE breakdown on servers.

Its OK in a regular webserver or if its in a cluster with failover, but when you have mission-critial server.. always SCSI or a SAN solution

Yeah, the server was one in a cluster... however we decided to do some major
upgrades and take advantage of the situation. It's working out nicely. :-)
