Platinumpimp,

I dont think the toon sites look similair, the design style is different. Webinc has a standard tour design and Illuminatitech uses a long tour.

I do see something in your first example.

Could you explain the anime paysite copy?

the only similarities i see in the first example similar style effect of the titles, fonts are different, layout different, buttons, background, amount of details
on the second only background color pallate is similar.

in the legal battle your case wont stand a chance, imo.
theyre only similar w/o paying attention to the detail, but obviously other designs were inspired by the originals.

Look at the orange lining at the top and below the red/shade in the middle. Come on now...

There's a difference between copying & ripping :-)

I think it's fairly easy to see the similarities in the second example. The colors and bg are very similar. I agree with you that the design is much different, and actually very good. I just don't they had to copy the BG and color scheme.

People sometimes try to do what they want. but people like XpressWebStudio are paid to do someting they don't want. Artist sometimes must follow their client... That's the sad part... But the good part is they tried to make it somehow different...

i would like to inform all of you that the design you saw was specified by our clients... don't ever think that our designers are trying to imitate or rip off their designs... we're just following our clients specifications we didn't consciously made an effort for our designs to look like someone else's designs... we are not aware that kind of design existed... it was purely coincidental...

Thanks to all you guys who stood up for us... It was never our intention to rip off or copy webinc's design.. it was purely coincidental.. we have great respect for webinc.. they have been in this industry longer than us and they have great designs... To the staff of webinc.. we want you to know that we greatly admire your work and we would never ever do such a thing.. we had no idea that those designs we're similar to the ones you have already created as we are not aware of such designs of yours until now.. As for platinumpimp, I wish you would have talked to me personally on icq before attacking us like that..

The colorss seem to be similar, but other than that they are really not that close. Mainly the second one.

There's so many sites accross the adult spectrum there's bound to be similarites between so many of them. Not to mention the myriads of mom and pop sites all using the same rehashed bulk content.

(everyone just trynna make money)

One wonders (how) unless you shoot your own film.

So did your client specify that he wanted you to copy the "Meaty Man Movies" color scheme and underlining swoop?

Your Interacial Movies Logo was clearly influenced by the Meaty Man Movies. Can I take myself seriously while typing "Meaty Man Movies"?

Imagine a lawyer trying to make a case for "Meaty Man Movies" in a court of law.

The only similarity between the first two is the logo. The second logo is obviously influenced by the second, but i'd hardly call it a copy.

The only similartiy between the third and fourth design is the colour scheme in the background. It's not exactly the most uncommon colour combination. Probably was influenced by the webinc design, but again, i'd hardly call it a copy.

I can't imagine webinc being particularly annoyed if they saw these designs. Maybe the logo on the first one, but that'd be all.

Your logos are more similar to Lukapensa's in style and design than the two examples you used to stir up shit here.

I'll give you this much though, at least you've stopped using other people's licensed images in your designs. Unlike that one you like to bitch about me refusing to pay you for.

I've proven you to be a thief as well.

Did you own the license to the VW image in the logo you tried to pawn off on me? Didn't think so.

You asked me to find a volkswagen and put it in there idiot. Besides, you didn't pay so it was never used commercially, tool. Later on we would have discussed licensing that pic. It was an idea.

This is like what, 2 years ago now?

Every creation have it's basis or a reason why it was created. Like the WMP skin of Terminator3 and AlienGuise. Like Ford and Chevi... You don't know who copied but in coincidence they have the same inspiration.

IMHO there is only so much designers can do in this industry, eventually designs will start to look like each other more and more... lately i'v seen a lot of mainstream design looking more and more like templatemonster.com.. but i guess thats the way things stand now.. also the adult design is is very restrictive in what you can do and what you cant.. so its inevitable that designs will look similar.. maybe the people paying should ask for more innovative designs

Yeah, my BIGGEST mistake in that circus was not that i asked if it was ok. (i know, what the hell was i thinking) and not that i used the same kind of yellow lines! It was to call it an "exact copy" in that fuc... email i sent them, cause it was not ! I admit that it was wrong (very wrong), but it was not an exact copy, next time i send someone an email i will choose my words ! ;))
