On trouve parfois dans les forums ou dans son courrier électronique des avertissements
inquiétants décrivant les ravages causés par un nouveau virus qui circulerait sur les serveurs de
mails ou de news. Ce virus aurait le pouvoir d'agir à la seule lecture du message qui le véhicule.
Bien sûr, l'avertissement conseille de transmettre l'information au maximum d'internautes. Et
finalement, s'il y a bien propagation, ce n'est pas du virus, mais de l'avertissement lui-même,
relayé par des utilisateurs crédules mais de bonne foi

le virus le plus dangereux pour un ordinateur ne serait il pas avant tout son utilisateur ? .cqfd

De telles fausses alertes - en anglais hoaxes (canulars) - réapparaissent cycliquement sur l'Internet. Les
"nouveaux" virus ont pour noms "Penpal", "Join The Crew" , "Win a holiday"...sans oublier le fulfnbk.exe

Ces canulars mis à part, peut-on infecter son ordinateur en parcourant l'Internet ?
Rappelons qu'à ce jour, un virus ne peut infecter qu'un fichier exécutable (exe, com, dll...) ou un document
associé à une macro-commande (macro-virus de Word).

Le Web :
Une page Web ne peut pas contenir un virus à proprement parler. Par contre, un auteur
malintentionné ou simplement maladroit peut inclure dans sa page une applet ou un script
ravageur. Cela va rarement plus loin qu'un blocage du système. Même si ce n'est pas
agréable, les risques restent limités.
Il est possible d'interdire l'exécution de scripts et d'applets en choisissant un niveau de sécurité élevé pour son
navigateur. Mais de plus en plus de pages faisant appel à des contrôles actifs, cela se fera aux dépens d'une
navigation commode.

Courrier électronique et groupes de discussion :

Si les messages sont au format texte (cas le plus courant) : le message ne peut pas
contenir un virus à proprement parler ; cependant, tout fichier exécutable attaché au
message est susceptible d'être infecté.
Prévention : ne pas ouvrir directement les fichiers attachés ; toujours choisir l'option
"enregistrer sur le disque" et contrôler l'intégrité du fichier à l'aide d'un bon anti-virus.

Si les messages sont au format HTML (non recommandé par la netiquette pour les
groupes de discussion, utilisable pour le courrier si le logiciel de courrier du
destinataire accepte ce format) : les risques sont les mêmes que pour la navigation sur
le Web, donc assez limités.
Cela ne concerne que les utilisateurs de logiciels de dernière génération. Mais même
avec ceux-ci, il est toujours possible d'interdire le chargement des messages en
HTML.

Thanks alot.
I found a file in my windows\command folder
FULFNBK.EXE and did search on google that took me to the site..

I delete the file, have no ideal what it does.

you shouldnt delete FULFNBK.EXE ! a hoax e-mail was going around a few weeks ago saying its a virus but its not a virus at all.
