What did the other guy shoot the other times you played? How many strokes do you get? What did you shoot the last few times you played him? How many times did you hit the ball out of the fairway on your drives? How well do you hit your irons? How well do you putt?
Answer these and I will tell you how to win....Comment

Don't try to kill the ball when you fallow though on your swing make sure you look at the ball the entire time. Do not look where the ball is going until after you hit it. If you are hooking/Slicing Buy offset clubs/driversComment

Well at 120, I would take some lessons.. but here's something to think about...
Lets say a par 4 is 400 yards
4 100 yard shots + 1 chip + 3 putts = 8 shots
Par 5 at 500 yards
5 100 yard shots + 1 chip + 3 putts = 9 shots
Par 3 175 yards
2 100 yard shots + 1 chip + 3 putts = 6 shots
(if there is a water hazzard, drill it in the water and take your drop) = 7 shots
Per 18 holes: 72 par score
4 par 3's = 24 strokes
10 par 4's = 80 strokes
4 par 5's = 36 strokes
TOTAL = 140
I can get any golfer who can swing a club to shoot 120 or less using this concept.
The hardest thing to get people to do is learn course management and take one hole and one stroke at a time...
You may look like an ass clown playing like this, but if you want to win, it works...Comment

Ok, i've washed my balls (golf balls), i'm alway's keeping my eye on the course, i drink enought beers) on the shooting: i always keep my eye on the ball during motion, i take my time to hit, i keep me foot parallel, i dont fold my left arm, i let my right arm lead the arc. i tink i said about everything i've learned in golf.

The first should be grip.Originally posted by candyflipGrop...Drop...Square Up...Head on the ball...follow thru
Always works for me.
Say and do these before you swing and you're all set.
Check your grip.
Drop your head.
Square up to the ball.
Keep you eye on the ball.
Follow thru with your head, chest and hips.Comment

Exactly... but did you read what he shoots?
If you read what I wrote, you would see that anyone who can hit a ball 100 yards and can putt, can shoot less than 140...
BTW, what do you shoot now?Comment

Well i'm at my fourth game and dropped from 172 to 165 to 154 to 149, the only lesson i took was on a k7 year's before i strarted playing. in addintion of my 4 normal 72, i've player 3 par 3 and drove many ball'. I'm a good driver and i use to take my driver for 2snd ans third shot! Just because i am good with it at the start. With wath you are teling me, i'm wrong to use my wood so often in the fairway. It sound good to me. Another question! when hitting with iron on middle of the feild; do you have to put your head behind , in front the ball or right over it?

Well there you go. You know how many people play for years and have a hard time breaking 90 or even 100 regularly (playing 100% by the rules).Originally posted by Martinshooting in the 80's low 90's myself
You must have some natural ability or taken lessons. I shoot about the same from the tips, but I have been playing since I was a kid...Comment

The ball should be 2-6 inches back from your front foot. If you are right handed, it's 2-6 inches back from your left foot depending on the iron #. The longer the iron (ie 4 iron) the closer the ball goes towards your front foot. Personally I dont vary the ball between irons too much. for me it's about 2-3 inches from my front foot, unless i am chipping and then i vary alot depending on what kind of shot i am trying to make.Originally posted by poissonHey mark, wath with my last question?
When playing iron. should i be behind the ball, over it, or in front of it? my bros told me that with some is in front it behind with other its in front!
three things i will also mention that can help a lot.
1) before you take a shot, get behind the ball about 4-6 feet. make a visual path of where you want the shot to go and then pick a piece of grass or any mark you can find on the ground that is in line with the path you want the ball to go and use that to line up your shot. dont take your eyes off that mark. walk up to the ball and align your club with that mark. i may not be able to explain it without causing some confusion, but hopefully it makes sense.
2) try swinging at 3/4 your normal, nice and relaxed (if you have a tendancy to spray the ball or mishit)
3) before you strike the ball, hold the club off the ground and get a feel for its weight, your hands should be firm, but loose enough to feel the club. this will help with helping to relax your swing.
Finally, take one shot at a time. don't think about your last shot or your next, just the one you are about to make. Most people i play with try to hit the ball to hard. speed of the club is what creates distance not strength. at the same time, the swing needs to be a steady tempo and not fast up and fast down.
try these tips out and let me know how it goes....Comment

Practice your short game 100 yards or less from the hole are where you will win or lose. Chip and putt well and you will shave a lot of stokes off your round. Drives don't really matter all that much. Also off the tee use your 3-wood if you have one not a driver, it's much easier to hit if your not practicing a lot with your driver.
Or get lucky like i did yesterday and get hole in ones.

Golf is all about the short game. Keep the ball moving forward, limit the duffs (where the ball barely moves) and you will be fine. You can top the shit out of a 3 iron twice and and still move the ball a good 200 yards. But you duff a pitching wedge around the green, you made no progress at all and that will bite you quickly.XXXRewards - Karups - Boyfun - Jawked. Paying on time since 1997. Nice for you, i know many people playing for years and never made under 120. So if you want for people to bow in front of your capabilities start your own thread. Trying to laught at my score is not very cool of you.

A lot of times golfers spend way too much time thinking I have to do this, then this, then this and they get brain overload. Take a couple of practice swings, get a good feel for the club then picture in your mind hitting the ball solidly and the flight of the ball as it goes where you want it to go. Envision the shot mentally and relax. It will help I promise. Golf is at least 75% confidence in what you are doing. If you think you are going to hit it in the water you will!
