PK is oldschool, is a nice lady and owns a popular TGP. But there are probably a few women in this industry who make more than she does. :) |

Founder Ruth Parasol made her fortune originally from running premium rate adult chat lines and adult entertainment websites, before switching to online gaming in 1997. Parasol and her husband Russell de Leon, both lawyers, are each set to cash in around $370 million and still own a combined stake worth about $2.7 billion. Parasol and de Leon now act as legal consultants to the Gibraltar based company. NEXT QUESTION :) |
As far as money goes, Danni from danni.com is the most successful. I doubt she does much webmistress work anymore though. I heard she did in the beginning. Jenna Jameson is also very successful, but I wouldnt consider her a webmistress. I think her husband Jay handles most of her online business.
As far as most successful "real" webmistress, I would go with PersianKitty, because she probably knows html, how to upload files, and do real webmaster work. |

I would say she's at the top too :thumbsup |

Well, there's several differences between PK and myself, but the main one being, I don't actually own any sites. I create pages (yes, I do know HTML etc :1orglaugh) and generate traffic to send to affiliate programs. In fact, I usually don't even renew domains, ha. I don't know how much PK makes, it's none of my or anyone's business... but she is one of the first and well known. I've never done any type of modeling, performing, camming, etc myself... so, I'm also not like other webmistresses that maintain their personal sites. I actually started with mainstream in 1997 and started adult in 2000. I'm virtually a nobody, which is fine by me! :) There's several names mentioned in this thread that I have never heard of, to be honest. I guess a lot of successful women (and men) in this industry stay low profile and private as possible. Which is understandable. |
this was a very good read and also very inspiring :)

a webmistress can be the webmistress and the performer, runnig their own site using them selves as content.
There are lots of females that make really good money, a million plus a year or thereabouts, tons more make half a million a year - and put into perspective, a half million a year is good money especially if your not spending most of it on advertising and affiliates. As for who makes the most, well, no one will ever know because money is a well kept secret, but generally, if a site has been around a long time, looks like it is doing good, then they probably are. |
it would have to be Danni she makes 7 million a year

LOL I've known ruth and her dad, Rich aka Rick since 1997. She's obviously super smart, very well connected and has been since the the early days because of her dad. She struck out on her own LONG ago and is NOT REALLY a webmistress. BUT she's definitely one of the most successful web operators (man or woman) EVER! :2 cents: |

What were her adult sites? |

In the loose definition of webmistress I think she fits. YOU know everyone |

I acknowledged you first! |

"Although qualified as a lawyer, it is unclear whether she ever practiced, because shortly after leaving law school she went into business with her father, who by then was running sex chatlines. By 1994 she had two of her own chatlines, called WKP and SPR. Some say Richard Parasol gave them to his daughter to help her make her own way in the world of adult entertainment." - http://********.com/read.aspx?ID=10316 If she was ever a webmistress is was for a brief time because according to her spokesperson she was out of adult by 1996 (when most online sites were just getting their start). "Ms Parasol's spokesman says she and her father had withdrawn from IEG by mid-1996, and that she has severed her connections with the internet pornography industry." Interesting woman and story nonetheless. |
PK is the one that comes to mind the most, But Czarina does very well. She is very rarely here on the board, but she works her ass off in this industry.

Webmistress only does adult? Where do you draw the line. .What about webmistress that only promotes or runs dating sites? I would say "Who is the most succesful Adult Webmistress?" would mean some one ONLY in adult.. IMHO ofcourse I did not make the thread |

Curious info about her also it seems the US Government wants to lock her up. But gambling is where the money is. "What makes it all very interesting is that the U.S. government had said that PartyGaming PLC is in violation of three federal statutes: the Interstate Wire Act, the Illegal Gambling Business Act, and the Travel Act - because online gambling is illegal in the U.S., and because 90% of PartyGaming's revenue comes from U.S. residents. As such, all the principles are subject to arrest and imprisonment. That's why the company isn't traded on any of the exchanges in New York, and one of the reasons Ruth is living in Gibraltar. Another is that taxes are low. This threat from the U.S. government made estimates of PartyGaming's IPO as low as $5 billion just two weeks ago, but investors obviously didn't ultimately care." - http://www.latitude38.com/LectronicL...27/June27.html |

:2 cents: LOL I know YOU and that's all that matters - and the fact you turned me on to that Green Valley Sushi spot - puts you on my "well connected" list! :winkwink: |

if they could tax it - it would be a different story i'm sure. :2 cents: |

Agreed. I don't understand why we can have Vegas but online gambling is a no no. Just regulate it and tax it. |

US will probably soon add a legislation that one has to also run a real-world casino to run an online casino, that's how it's done in some other places around the world. |
OK OK the truth is out. I taught PK everything she knows :winkwink:
|
I really dislike the term webmistress.
I would imagine the most successfull one whoever it is, did not feel so insecure that they could not be labled a webmaster. |
