Great news to see the world also spending money on the reverse of terrorism.

Sadly, Bush still has a thorn up his ass about Kyoto, which even if all countries agree to we'll end up dead within 200 years anyway; or wearing gas masks to go outside.

Anyone know what you'd take in school to be educated on all of these things? I can't imagine politics... when I had a politics course in university it had nothing to do with this.. I want to learn the structure of the G-8 and of other organizations and how they're currently setup, etc.. Anyone know what 'specialty' that would be?

also US gives africa over 3 billion PER YEAR. just like we do israel.

the difference is, theres a lot more people in africa.

we donate over $400 buck per israeli to israel, just in "economic" funding, not counting military.

nelson mandela, who we can all agree is an expert on africa, said it best...poverty is man made...we can stop it...the g8 and terrorism are very connected issues, you think the guys in iraq and palestine would be strapping on bombs when they could be strapping on backpacks to go to school? eliminate poverty in iraq, palestine, and everywhere else, you will see world peace. we should all have a piece of land big enough to grow crops and raise livestock if property were divided equally, and there would be no reason for war. thats my two cents, probably take ww3 for that change to come about.

Exactly, which is what their concerns were, adn what they plan to lookout for.

WW3 vs. the US / Bush; he's really the only way refusing to ever not being greedy / hogging money; of course of the US' economy which is in a pretty bad situation with them putting so many resources into Iraq; which they have to have troops there probably for another 10 years, and watch them closely for the following lifetime... though they'll have enough US companies profiting in Iraq that they won't really care. *vomits*

And yes, I fully FULLY agree with you Fletch.

Sadly, at the moment, there's not really any FULL world unity to focus and create agencies and structures to address the issues fully; much more 'money' / resources / people's time / services are required to figure out everything.

And the greedy (comparitively % wise, not money figures wise because the size of your economy could be so big because the country is so greedy) need to be stepped infront of by the rest of the world to smarten up; though perhaps a party who's sympathetic, even empathetic will come into power in those greedy economies and simply change and make things work.

That would be a happy day.

I don't know much about the situation in Africa but it seems they lack any real infrastructure. They don't produce/manufacture anything (that I'm aware of), companies don't outsource labor there except to export natural resources like diamonds, there is no trade between Africa and other nations, a heavily illiterate population (?), the Governments are corrupt.

This may all change and maybe this is the first step but I don't think we'll see anything change in our lifetime. I hope I'm wrong.
