I have a question about AVN. Internext Florida. Not taking sides..

But, can someone explain to me why everyone is upset about the "needing a badge to enter the hotel?"

Now, I fully understand they make money. But isn't the most sweeping show complaint to date the fact that the general public is allowed in?

Two other show productions spawned a series of complaints ranging from scantily dressed models and photographers in a pool with families and non-industry people entering suite parties and drinking for free.

Did they not take the proper precaution in solving the issue? Should taking precautions when allowing people in? What monitoring system works?

Did everyone not get what they asked for?

I am niether pro nor con. But it seems to me that the majority won.

What would be the strategy to implement?

It'd be nice to have a nightly pass or simple verification pass that you're attached to someone who's at the conference.

I think it mostly has to do with badges will not be replaced. Another issue is I don't want to carry my badge out to restaurants and clubs just so I can get back into my room.

We are on the same page. I have lost my badge at every single show. I understand if they want to charge me a reprinting fee pending a large percentage of people do this and they are caught dedicating resources to it..but full charge to reprint is excessive.

If I lose my badge, I will change my flight to early out.

I think its maybe people dont actually buy tickets to the show and hang out in the bar and restaurants. Lets face it very little business happens on the show floor. No one gets in the building without passes prevents that

If they refuse to let me to my room, I will chargeback my room. For the prices they charge, they can afford to have a hotel staff member verify with ID and print a new badge and void the old one. It is not a complex procedure and ridiculous to charge an extra $300 to get back to my room. Besides, putting that badge in my pocket in the past, I know that pin can come lose and fuck does it hurt when it goes through your leg through your pants.

People could get real unrational late at night trying to bring a friend into the hotel.

For me, it is really tough. My mom and dad live there. They have always came to the Diplomat for brunch one of the days. That will obviously not happen this year.

Charles that pin has got me before as well. I have also had the plastic case break and lost the badge.

In shows past, I was responsible for bringing in huge boxes and setup equipment. That has often times played the culprit in breaking it.

The first time that we went to internext in Fl. we were sitting in the main dinning room havving dinner, and a woman and her son walked in. It would have been ok, providing that the ladies at the table had not been half naked. We asked the woman if anyone told them of the convention, and she said no. She said that they eat there 1 a week, and had no idea. n

You bring up an excellent point. I think the hotel just doesn't turn down business at times when they should
