The webmaster world is at war!
One side is represented by the clever SEO-sniper tribe, taking over the internet-world domination by outsmarting the opponent and the prey. They are fighting the old "Bulkers". The Bulkers are old school bruteforce entities that use crude weapons to get their targetes - much like old dinosaurs.

The SEO tribe use little effort and energy to make the kill, waste no ammunition: "one shot - one kill". They have a hunt/kill ration of 1:10

The Bulkers use a lot of energy to make just one kill. They will gladly waste 3000-5000 bullets and funt for 24 hours,just to get one kill, scaring all other prey away, and make sure they never come back.

We have seen it before with:
Human vs dinosaurs
Development countries vs. Industrial countries
Even the military have learned that smartbombs is better than WMD.

When the fuck will webmasters Learn???????

Not very thought provoking and also grossly inaccurate. People have been looking to get traffic from the search engines (which are also an important source for bulk traffic handlers) for longer than people have been seeking bulk traffic. And whereas pulling traffic from search engines truly used to require very little "effort and energy", that is no longer true.

The bottom line is that a traffic source is a traffic source. By all means pick the one which suits you best. But they are not mutually exclusive and it's damn silly to introduce a suggestion of elitism about a particular choice.

There's nothing wrong with both business models, if I had the time and resources I would probably want to get a TGP as well. Nothing wrong with hitting two business models at the same time.

60.00 to 300.00 since you did not feel like doing the math.

Stereo's and lcd monitors are not promoted on tgps though, nor are the majority of main stream products. Come to think of it I have never seen a thumb preview site for hickory farms sausages.

SEO has its place and it often has a higher return per click. I do not think you will get many who will argue that with you. Is it ultimatly better than cj or any other form of traffic sources? Not really. You do what you can with what you have access to.
SEO is not new and it has been around longer than the whole CJ scheme has been. It does however require work and often upkeep to maintain your long term listings. Where as everyone knows cj traffic is meant for quick fast returns.

As for your analogy, well just a few small points. Dinosaurs never used tools, and men never competed against dinosaurs. Now you have my thoughts on this and I am going back to my cockroach business mentality.

So what? There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, it's great. But at the same time it is ludicrous to suggest that other traffic sources should be left on the table simply because they have different profiles.

I just don't see the point of this thread unless it is to inflate your own ego. We would be a bunch of idiots if we all pursued the exact same traffic source in the same way and ignored all the others.

Actually I disagree.

Whereas both business models may have their own strong and weak points, not everyone is suited for search engines as not everyone can understand and do well with TGPs.

The skills needed in each case differ so greatly that it is highly unlikely that one single webmaster can do well in both. Best is to honestly determine ones' own skills, chose a playground and go for the kill.

maybe the difference is more in the mentality of the traffic. Targetted SE traffic is not 90% surfers per se but peeps ready to buy, they just want the one last push- an informative review or that specific item on sale. Whereas the TGP surfer is a surfer whacking off with no initial intention to buy and has to pull his pants up and go get his credit card if he does get interested enough.
