I've said it before, I'll probably say it again.

Only a fool would pay for a top banner spot here, and be in rotation with 30 other companies trying to compete with 61,000 juicy HPA's.

and a bigger fool spends the big bucks and skins this board. The price of advertising @ GFY is a joke in comparison to buying Juicy's sig.

Rock on Juicy. git yer paper.

Well you can rest assured, when it's banner buying time . You will get my loot and not the board. It's a much better ROI. LOL Hell you slap an EMU pic in there and you can control entire screens.

People who work for a somewhat succussful program seem to think they are "all that" and that the succuss of the program / company they work for is because of their work. This is not always true.

I work for Lightspeed Cash. For the most part I've been there since day one. I have a huge amount of experience in this industry and a long list of contacts. However, without Steve Lightspeed and his huge content libary standing directly behind me I'm nothing but another face in the industry. I've seen way too many people split from a company they helped build, only to watch them fail. I want to be part of something good, not a program quickly thrown together that's crappy.

One of the things that struck me about Grim was something he told me during Kimmy Kim's and Aly's birthday party in Hollywood. He told me that he controled all of the traffic that his current employer had, and that without him his employer would have to close shop without him. Well, that's not what happened is it? Even with a modest investment from WG he still fell flat on his face.

Jackass.

I have no doubt that if I left Topbucks/PlugInFeeds, they'd fold up shop tomorrow.

Seriously though, very good post.

I have to say ne thing is WG is a man of patience, real patient. He beleived in Grim and tried to give him time and payment scenarios that where feasable.

The least Shawn should be doing is come out of hidding, pay up like a man and get back to work on doing what he was good at.

WG wanted to give him a second chance, if shawn would of got his chin up, I am sure he could of got forgiveness from lots of people and still accomplish good things in this industry.

Good question. By the way Shawn, and yes I know you're reading this, you should call your parents once in a while. I'm sure they've had enough phone calls from my collections agency and attorney to make them never want to hear from you again. At this point, you should really consider if ripping me off was worth destroying any credibility you had for only $10k.

Grimshawns a big child, i should have known it when i saw him knocking over those standing ashtray things in the lobby of a hotel in montreal. Men step up to the plate & take care of their debts....i hope he'll do some growing up real quick & take care of shit.

Wiredguys probably one of the coolest guys i've met....the type of guy who'd do anything for a friend. And i for one would like to give shawn a swift kick to the balls for what he's done.

Ya know, I don't know the details of your situation with GS, OR the finer details of MadCap with everyone.

However, I'm GUESSING that neither of these guys intentionally ripped anyone off. That could also just me being incredibly naive. But what would they have gained from short term funding if they're now, "Working in a hardware store." I can't imagine that was be design.

I'm betting they're both situations where they talked bigger than they were, and simply got overextended. Then when people realize they're NOT as big as they made themselves out to be, embarrassment set in. In this community, if you're not making $1,000 a day, you're a peon (naturally that's bullshit, but everyone and their dog will claim they make this).

So, imagine not only not making $1,000 a day, but having ANY sort of financial trouble and the community at large figuring that out. You become instant board fodder for everyone. It would take some serious pride swallowing for these guys to come back and make amends. I wonder who else here would be able to do it.

Note-That in NO way condones what happened with these two, but I can certainly understand how it MAY have happened.

Ron darling, I'm not even through my first coffe this morning. I'd appreciate it if you could please keep the intelligent, profound chatter down to a minimum... at least for a few more minutes. That goes for you, too, Rochard!

I strongly disagree. I made multiple offers of payments over a 6 month term, repayment through traffic or joins and completely interest free. I was more than leniant in my offering for repayment and he decided to flee the country instead of own up once I got my attorney involved since it was clear he had no intentions on repayment. If he had any genuine intentions of repayment, he certainly demonstrated them by his actions.

Fair enough. I can't argue that. That's what I meant by not knowing all the details.

And I'm not arguing that he did ultimately make the CHOICE to fuck you over. I just can't imagine he went in to the arrangement KNOWING he wasn't gonna repay you right from the start.

Again, that's total speculation. Maybe he did. If he DID, it was obvious business suicide.

Edit-I just have a hard time believing someone would throw away potentially a lot of money for such a paltry figure.

Again, that's total speculation. Maybe he did. If he DID, it was obvious business suicide.

Edit-I just have a hard time believing someone would throw away potentially a lot of money for such a paltry figure.

If I had thought his intention was to rip me off, then I'm the fool for signing that check. I'm sure at the time he didn't have that intention either but I guess having that much money in his hands was more than he could handle. If only he would have used it wisely, he could have made much more over time. But now, he has to live his life on the run. I hope it was worth it.

Exactly, the amount isn't the question, it's the matter of principle and the fact that he decided to run instead of own up to his responsibilities.
