Radio Needs .. You! - The Brains of the Industry

When I had the heart attack.. and the triple bypass.. about the last thing on my mind was net radio... lotssa pretty good shows out there anyway.. can't blame a guy for having his priorities in a row ... gotta live to get on air so that makes sense.. lol... I don't even wanna discuss what a trip bypass and a carotid artery procedure costs these days.. ow...!

But that wasn't quite as bad as the ow of recovery.. dadgummit that was and still kinda is a little tough.. but.. I got my voice back.. and my health is good.. I've spent I guess... the past time since right after I got out trying to build a new sorta broadcast system that'd do some nice stuff on air.. and finallly got it finished... couldn't have done it without the guys at CE.. they were a great help.

Anyway.. I'm in the process of scheduling guests and working on programming ideas.. I know you guys don't want to listen to an hour of spam or an hour of somebody telling jokes that ain't funny.. but you want to have a good time too..

And I'd like to invite anyone here.. anyone with thoughts or funnies or contests or anything cool.. to have you on as a guest.. we know how cross promotion works.. you gimme a little goodness for the listeners and sure ya get to mention what's happpening with your whatever....

I may be a pretty good interviwer.. but you guys here are connected 24 7 to the scene.. and you know what you want to hear and talk about.. so this is a two way thing where agreeing or opposing views can be vented and .. listened to with just a click.. and get a lot of people updated.. and interested in the scene.. the changes.. and what's going on.. so .. Radio Needs You!


And I'd love to hear your ideas and have you on as guests to talk about.. the common goals.. ideas.. maybe even some drama.. i know ya dig that too...

-Monday afternoon's is currently very boring and a good time-although the audience may not always be there because of the weekend
-ability for listeners to call in with questions is VERY important
-deal with current issues and/or prominent industry figures (having the SAME people back week after week, gets old fast)
-research, research, research-ask the obscure questions and have fun. The best compliment I could ever get from a guest, is when they'd say, "Where the FUCK did you find out about that." I refused to conduct the same old interview that everyone else would do. I was entertained, I HOPE the audience was entertained, and the guests more often than not, told me they had more fun doing my show than others they'd been on.

Depending on the type of show you want to run dokk, and how you wish to be perceived (if you care), I'd steer clear of the drama myself. You probably won't be able to express a totally impartial view of things and will be accused of taking sides.

Getting two people who are fighting on the boards to call in and debate? Great in theory, but JMM Justice tried it and didn't last a month if I recall correctly. More than likely, people didn't want to go on record publicly with their perceived slights.

In my opinion, the Humpday show with YnotBob and LAJ is the standard today. The ONLY problem I have is they frequently won't ask the harder questions that I would ask and DID ask when presented the opportunity. Oh, and having Rob Black on monthly and treating him like a god is truly sickening.

Of course, I have little or no tact when it comes to this sort of stuff.

No tact is okay.. and I hope you will give some consideration to perhaps coming on air with me... I .. many galaxies ago and far away was one of the humpday lunch guys and did the production for it .. they have done a fantastic job there.. and I agree with every point you brought up. I think the audience wants it factual, unbiased, relative to what concerns them at the time.. but they still want to be .. entertained as well by some types of topics... they always seemed to enjoy getting prizes a lot.. that can get interesting, lol...

Every day it's a little bit better.. the leg they took all the plumbing out of works a little better... I can walk a little further, talk a little longer and not sound hoarse.. stand a little longer.. think a little clearer and work a little harder. I can feel my heart beat now and when I lay down on a pillow can hear it move the pillow every time it beats.. it brings about a total life change.. there's more stuff that I can't eat than I can.. and will be on medication rest of my life.. it's not too bad though.. lopressor, lipitor and aspirin.

I hope I can continue to get better as I have.. and every day really does feel like an extra day... I didn't know I was having a heart attack when it was happening.. sorta thought maybe but nah.. but if I'd waited one more day.. woulda been a dirt sandwich... had 2 arteries 100 percent blocked and 1 85 percent.. and the carotid artery.. the thing they cut out of it looks like a small chicken leg... but now.. wow.. i can feel the blood go through my neck into my brain and through my body.. and it sure does feel good... ;-)
